I have recently been getting messages from someone who claims to know me and I dont want to block them, I want to find out their identity. Besides, they just continue to make new names.
Yes, I want to find out who the hell this ************** is. Any help, legal or not, will be appreciated.

Try running a search for their screen name on Facebook.com, if they're at your school they might come up.
Also look in their profile to see if they have any sort of contact info (phone numbers, dorm addresses, etc.) you could look up.

Both good ideas, but neither showed anything useful...

Not to sound like a smartass, but you could just ask them when they message you. If they don't tell you, assume its someone harrassing you and block them. If they make new names and continue to bother you, I would think AOL could deal with them and block their IP, though I've never had to do that in the past.

Just block them on your buddy list... I have an ex that started making it a habit of harassing me via email. So I blocked her... which was bliss when it came to IM but a pain in the ass because then she started calling...
