I have GolTV on Adelphia. It's always been in English. Now today it's in Spanish.

What the hell?

Thanks for the link.

I hope that's all it is.

But if this requires Adelphia to do something on their end to get things back to English then you can be sure I'm going to have to make some more phone calls.

Hopefully constantino3 can chime in here and tell me exactly what I need to tell Adelphia to do. (And if you can do anything on your end, this is Adelphia cable in Santa Monica, CA.)

I have zero confidence in my cable company.

Our Technical Director will call Adelphia tomorrow.

In case you still want to hack the system ;-) , you need to tell them that GolTV is offered with one video BUT TWO audios, English and Spanish, and that each cable or satellite operator chooses the combination of audios they want to offer their customers. That yesterday we inverted the order in which audios were offered to cable operators, and that we sent a TECH ALERT TO EACH CABLE HEAD-END four times during the last 10 days. (hopefully, if you get though to a technician, she'll realize you have some accurate info :-) ). If they switch the order or contact our Network Director Technician then they'll solve the problem.

Good luck ! (But I hope to have Adelphia solved by tomorrow).

I have Dish network in Arizona and it's in Spanish now also. I talked to Dish tech support and they don't seem to understand the problem.

I have Comcast in Baltimore with Gol TV English (268) and Gol TV Spanish (622). They both switched last night.

That's what mine did, also (well, sort of).

Before yesterday, to get the English audio, I had to go into my digital cable box (Comcast, Indianapolis), and set the audio to Spanish. SAP on the TV didn't work, and when the cable box was set to English, I got English from all channels except for GolTV (well, as well as the Spanish-only channels). But to get GolTV in English, changing the box to Spanish was the only way, which had the unfortunate effect of turning any digital channel that had a Spanish feed to Spanish. Lots of button pushing to get to English on just one channel.

Now GolTV seems to work like it's supposed to. When the box says English, I get English. When the box says Spanish, I get Spanish.

Thank you!

Thanks for the help. It's still not resolved yet.

Anyway, no matter that I called yesterday (and was promised a call-back that never came), when I called today they said they hadn't even heard of the problem. I was able to email a supervisor what constantino said above, and he said he'd pass it along to the head end.

Now if only I were foolish enough to have any confidence in Adelphia, then I might have hope that this will be resolved quickly.

Meaning that you now have English in 268 and Spanish in 622 ? Or you had it right before and yesterday switched for wrong ?

IT'S A FREAKING MIRACLE!

Once again I have GolTV for gringos!

I'm truly shocked that someone at Adelphia fixed the problem.

Really. I can't believe it.

I'm very glad to read that. I took us several phone calls, but the main decision of changing our master configuration of audios is now propagating through all the cables' headends. At the end everybody will have the correct audio. Cable operators have so many channels and head-ends, that's not as easy for them as it seems to get it right rapidly.

Congrats...

What Zip Code ? (sorry for so many questions, Comcast has 3 head-ends that serve the Baltimore area, and it's easy for them to identify an area by zip code).

SAP on Gol TV in Comcast Berkeley (94709) is no longer providing English, no matter what audio channel I set it to on my Motorola 6412 DVR (in the setup menu, under audio settings, default, English, Espanol, etc.). It used to come in on the Espanol setting, which was strange but it worked. Then, two Mondays ago at 9 am during the VW Gol show which I DVR'd, it switched from providing the 2nd channel in English to the English setting, but only for one day. It did this in the middle of the show -- when I was watching on espanol it went from english to spanish right at 9 am, and then rewinding and switching the audio, it went from spanish to english while watching on the english setting. By Tuesday the 12th, there was no SAP, and nothing since.
