As we all know that, a couple of teams in Europe and one in Mexico were trying to sign women players a few months ago, i'm just curious if the MLS has ever thought of it, since we have very physical women players here, i'm sure Abby Wambach will fit nicely and so is Christie Welsh or Shannon Boxx.

IIRC the U-17's, and local select teams, have regularly beaten the USWNT in scrimages. This shows that no women will or should play in the league. The last thing MLS needs is some dumb gimmick. If there was a women that could compete, sure, why not, but there isn't. End of story. Close thread.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! They wouldn't take the pain. The game would have to change for them. Slower and less tough of a sport. It will become a wussy sport.

You're kidding, right?

I support women's soccer as much as anyone, but it would be a rare female specimen who had what it took to physically compete in a league like MLS. The other teams you mention were total publicity stunts.

Now a WMLS taking over the mantle from an inept WUSA I could see...

Well hopefully after the women have dismantled the men's college socccer and wrestling programs then MLS will have no choice but to become a women's only league.

What does this have to do with the USMNT? Why is this in this forum?

This is a joke, right?

lol

Didn't FIFA make a resolution or something this year that banned women from competing in "men's football"? I think they drafted it in response to the Mexican and Italian women trying to join men's teams.

There is only one woman who ever could have competed marginally successfully against men--Michelle Akers. That is what I recall reading 5-6 yrs ago as being said by BA, I believe. She had the size, strength and speed to do it. Wambach has the size, some strength, but not enough, and no speed, relatively speaking.

Each time a thread like this is started, Thomas Flannigan gets stronger.

Fixed your post.

In the future, try not to post so soon after you complete a round of electro-shock treatments.

Thanks for the thread but not really relevant to this forum. Feel free to try your ideas in one of the MLS forums.
