Ok, so I should be able to figure this out, but...

I'm going to London next week, and although I won't get to see the Gunners play I wanted to wander about near the stadium and maybe get a scarf or something. What's the best way to get there? By tube? Any particular recommendations for where to get Arsenal merchandise?

Thanks in advance!

I assume you're going to travel to Highbury from Central London, as this is the most touristy spot. The underground is the quickest and easiest way to the stadium - provided there are no strikes (avoid Wednesdays at the moment!). The nearest tube station to Arsenal stadium is Arsenal (2 mins walk), which is on the Piccadilly Line. It runs through stations like Kings Cross, Russell Square, Holborn and Tottenham Court Road, which are all conveniently placed in the heart of London. Alternatively, you can go to Finsbury Park station on the Victoria Line - again, from central areas. Here you will find the Arsenal World of Sport, where you can buy just about anything related to the Club. The stadium is just five minutes' walk along St Thomas's Road from here. You could also get a bus to this station - either the 29 or the 253, from the Euston/Camden Town area, but would take about 30 minutes travelling time. Hope this helps. Enjoy your stay!

I think Highbury itself is best reached by going to the Arsenal stop on the Piccadily line.

As far as merchandise, I think the Arsenal World of Sport store is best reached by using the Finsbury Park stop, which is on the Piccadily and Victoria lines.

Wish I could give you links to confirm this info, but the official website is really a piece of crap in some areas, and this is one of them. There's no listing for the superstore, and there are no directions on how to get to the stadium.

The best that I've found is this picture of the layout, which hints that the superstore exists, and shows the Arsenal tube stop nearby.

Thanks so much, guys. :) I'm so excited to be going, I haven't been to the UK since I've become a soccer fan.

And, it pains me to say this, but the Sp*rs site has directions to their stadium.

Then that's the only thing they've got over Arsenal.

Here's a tube map. Piccadilly Line is the blue line and Arsenal is in Zone 2, which is the green area in the north.

Apparently, one of my uni lecturers' son designs this website for the Underground. That's what he told us, anyway.

"CAROLINAB". What are you dates in London? Do they co-incide with Arsenal playing at Highbury? If so, I might be able to help you with ticket(s). If so, get in touch. JEFF.

Don't forget to have a look at this thread before you go! At least you can still get in the stadium, if you can't watch a match.

"CAROLINAB" If there are no games on during your visit, if you go to the ground on a Friday, you will be able to tour the ground and museum. Between 9am to 4pm.
Cost is £4. ($6). JEFF.

You can do the stadium visit and shopping in one go. The Gunners Shop is on Avenell road just up from the ticket office. They have everything in the catalogue there.
