We miss you.

He might need to sit a game, just to clear his head and re-focus. He's really out of his groove.

Tough day at the office for Alecko. He was pretty upset at himself for missing two point blank chances. He'll be OK.

Maybe his frustration will lead to a hattrick on Wednesday in Mexico.

That would be cool.

I wonder if he's still dinged up? He hasn't produced any goals, but he came damn close to scoring tonight. Only an exceptional save by ZT kept the game tied.

I think whats really disturbing is how easily defenders just sneak up behind him and easily pick his pocket. He just doesn't seem aware of his surroundings, he isn't reading that game, which is what bagged him so many goals last year, reading the play and running to the open space. He hasn't combined well with anyone on the field, and just seems lost out there. Some time on the bench might do him so good, Adu and Q1 have shown some good play so it might be time to award them so more playing time anyway.

I agree that Adu has played well, although it's important to note that he's been coming in later (when the opposing defense is more tired) and at a very different position, playing a very different role. Q1 I guess I just don't know about. Tonight he didn't make a very big impression on me during his minutes; but I was in the stands with a poor view and I'm certainly willing to believe that I missed his impact.

What I heard tonight was that he's having a knee problem right now. Apparently it's bad enough that he needed to cortizone shot. Take that for what you will.

from my view tonight at the stadium, this is probably the worst game i've seen alecko play. his trademark runs into the box were nowhere to be seen. as others noted, he wasn't entirely aware of where other players were. hard to say if sitting would be best, or just let him play though it...

If Esky can just get on the same page with Guppy...then the hattricks will come.

I'm not worried. We play his bitch (Columbus) on Friday.

Esky just needs to frustrate himself at the start of the season till where he gets pissed off and goes on a streak. Wasn't his start similar to this last year?

Not together they didn't. We could have had our second goal right after Q1 came onto the field. Freddy had the ball 40 yards from goal with no one on him. Q1 is streaking past the back line calling for the ball and Freddy just held it. I don't think he even recognized the opportunity. Just another sign of his immaturity. When he did try to get the ball to Q1 later he sent it 15 yards too far. Q1 didn't have a chance. Individually Freddy was fine holding the ball and dribbling thru defenders.

i thought eskandarian did a hell of lot of defensive work and chasing up top--pressure by forward players is critical to the scheme nowak uses. he did a very good job there.

he was unlucky not to score on that shot thorton got the miracle save on.

agreed he hasn't really seemed to "click" as well as some of the other guys, but i think he's a bit of a streaky player in that regard.

You must be talking about last year. However, after that he was cold and was benched a little while. I think that just made him hungry.

Actually, I suspect he's talking about the first meaningful match we played this year, the home leg against Harbour View FC.

Esky will fight through this, but Nowak has to make sure he doesn't get too frustrated. But once he gets that first goal, everything will be good in Eskyland.

No, I was talking about last year. Rugman was saying that his start last year was similar to this.
