Halftime of Chivas - Quakes.

Mullan doing what Mullan does best. Creatinh choas bytaking on, and beating defenders. taking good shots. and delievering teardrop crosses.
Brian Ching stilll looks off. Think he should of had 2 goals in the first half. He'll be fine though.
O'Rouke! O'Rourke! O'Rourke! more on him after the match
Brad Guzan - The kid's got talent. that much is obvious. Not sure how athletic he is however

O'Rourke kicks ass. He could be on the plane to Germany.

Guzan was very good in the 1st half but sucked in the 2nd.

Unfortunately, he probably won't get a cap until after this season, and may not get one till after 2006, since Bruce might have a good 30 players he'll be considering for the Cup. I love him and all, but he'll have to pull a Mastroeni to get on that plane. Best of luck to him as well. Kid's got fire.

I'm not think O'Rourke in '06, but the guy has something special. Showing it flashes now, and it may only ever be flashes, but you can see the potential to be a dominant force.

Davis obviously had a great game. Im not sure if his run of play stuff is up to USMNT level, but dead ball he may be the best the US could put out on the field.

Ching was class.

Mullan looked it a bit off in the second. He just had a kid, so Im wondering if he was subbed off because of the effects of a few sleepless nights.

Congrats to Mullan! I wonder if it was born with the 70's mustache. I'm sure it woulda made dad proud.

essentially what I was gonna say about O'Rourke. Was there a tool he DIDN'T flash today? He's got eberythng you'd want from a central midfielder, the question is whether or not he puts it all togeter - but he lacks for nothing.

He reminds me alot of Dempsey last year to be honest.

I don't thikn Davis is USMNT level.

New England vs Columbus

Don't think Marshall was at fault forany of the 3 goals, but he wasn't his normal dominant self
Dempsey looked good. REAL good. He's turned himself into the focal point for this Revs team and thats saying something for a team that also hasTwellman, Noonan, Ralston, and Cancela on the squad.
Buddle was a non-factor since Martino and the rest of the midfield couldn't provide service
Szetela - I actually thought he did some good things, but he simply had no support from the rest of his midfield so hard to tell

Clint Dempsey.

I don't know what the hell Feyenoord was smoking, but I'm damn glad they smoked it.

The Revs are must see TV this year. Even if they give up a ton of goals, that attack is as potent as the league has seen, I think. When Steve Ralston's your 4th best attacker and Cancela is your fifth...

O'Rourke sorta reminds me of a more physical version of Richard Mulrooney with better offensive skills, or a more physical, poor man's John O'Brien.

Wonder what it is with those Irish center mids. :D

If he keeps playing the way he has in the first 2 games of this season as well as in preseason he is. Remember that he's still a youg kid, 22 I believe. He won't be on the WC team and probably won't get much of a look before Germany, but I can see him replacing Eddie Lewis as the #2 LM after the Cup.

Let's face it, if he was right-footed, 75% of BigSoccer would be inking him in as our starting RM for Germany.

I think I'll take Dallas wBith the two best strikers (Johnson and Ruiz) add in the best winger (Ronnie O'Brien) and finally, one of the best central midfielders in the league in Mulrooney.

DC United might be the best team the league has ever produced. While Moreno and eskandarian aren'tin the top 4 of the league as strikers - their midfield is the best in the league and perhaps...well lets not get into that. We'll see what happens in Mexico City. But Guppy, Gomez, Olsen, Gros, and Caroll PERFECTLY completlement one another and every single one of them are two-way players. They are essentially more than any MLS team can handle. and we haven't even added the phenom, Freddy Adu. Who is undoubtedly the best 6th man in the league

Mullan has to develop a couple of more moves, IMO.

As to Galaxy vs. Real SL:

LanDo looked pretty good ... but so did everyone else against that Real SL defense. One thing that seems to work in his favor is that the Galaxy's Latin flavor will really help him with his ball skills, taking people on and so forth. But this Real played defense like its Madrid pseudo-brethren. Ole!

Eddie Pope? Would anyone still play him ahead of Gooch?

Clint Mathis? A three-game suspension waiting to happen.

And Steve Sampson is safe for another week.

O'Rourke had a very good performance, but he needs to take it easy with some of his challenges. He could have very easily been red carded. Clark disappointed me. He was much better last week. He just never seemed to get into the flow of the game. I think Davis is a very classy player. He should have a future with the nats. He's a very different player than an Eddie Lewis. While he's a great crosser and dead ball player like Eddie, he seems to pinch into the center more. Ching was quiet for most of the game, but his incredible strength and agility got that great goal for him. Sequeira was piggy backing him the whole way on that goal. Donovan was absolutely incredible tonight. He showed why he's the best player in the league. Dempsey was pure class as well. The guy can do it all. I see a LA-NE final this year.

The dude sitting next to me, also a season ticket holder, said he was the weakest player for the Earthquakes when he got subbed out! :) I don't argue with people.

Ching was class.

Ching was ok. If he wants to start in 2006 or star in the World Cup he needs to improve his dribbling(messed up breakaway) and his finishing(perfect pass by O'Rourke).

Agreed on FC Dallas. Remember, unfortunately, that the Galaxy also have to play on the road occasionally.

DC United and Concacaf supremacy: I'm glad some of us are holding out hope. I'm not, and I think they impressed but really blew it in DC. A surprise is definitely possible. I hope they score and/or send it beyond regular time.

I thought that number 13 for the Galaxy looked pretty dangerous tonight. He got a goal and caused lots of trouble for the defense. Maybe Bruce should take a look at him. :D

Post Feyenoord Clint has changed his tune about playing in Europe. Might be sour grapes, might be he decided to pass on a deal for any number of reasons.

Feyenoord smoked same stuff when they passed out Bocanegra and Howard. Only one day when they forgot taking their stuff with them, they signed that kid named Gibbs. :p

Clint

Mathis was pretty bad today and made a horrible challenge on Ngwenya i think it was.

He'd better start scoring soon. Personally the way things are going he isnt on my WC 2006 23 man roster.
