If you want to go to Chicago on the World Cup Express (WCX) (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185985) click on this link and contact Joe.
If we don't have enough people, the bus won't go....
It's a great way to travel, watching DVD's, playing Video games, drinking, etc.
The bus will be leaving Friday evening (earlier the better) driving over night until we reach Chicago.
Joe can't take the bus unless their is sufficient interest - he's not independantly wealthy.
If you don't know what the WCX, post below, I'm sure that I can find the URL.

Guess I should explain, the WCX leaves from Frederick, MD - so many DCU fans may be able to go.

Note to self - read posts more closely. I may not be able to see again after pulling my eyes out after the visual that I got from mis-reading the post...

In that thread, he doesn't mention either how much $ or when he needs to know by. Joe, do you know either of those?

It's a pretty good deal. Joe doesn't make any money on it. It depends upon how many people are on the bus. Joe estimates how much it will cost for gas, tolls, food, beer, soft drinks etc. and splits it based on how many people are coming. If we have enough, I plan on getting 10 seats in Sam's Army by Tuesday (so that would be the day that Joe is going to make the decision).
Don't tie me to this, but I would expect that it will cost around $100/person maybe $120. This includes transportation, tailgating food, drink and ticket ($28). Joe does the financials.
Again don't tie me to this, but herein is a summary of what Joe and I discussed yesterday, plan to leave Friday evening (say 6pm) from Frederick, drive all night in shifts arriving in Chicago around 10am. Game, partying. Possible that we could sleep on the bus Saturday night as well. I have 2 rooms booked at 2 different hotels in Chicago at a very reasonable price.
All in all, I enjoy taking the bus. You can relax and enjoy the trip watching tons of soccer (DCU last season 8 DVDs, WCQ 2002 (Mex/CR), WC2002, WCQ 2006 to date) at a very reasonable price. The only downside is that it is not as fast a car or a plane.
Good people....

I studied abroad all last summer too. Then she got a restraining order, and that was pretty much that.

Dang, sounds like a good time but the wedding is that weekend (you know the reason why I had to miss yesterday's match) so I won't be able to join in this merry little adventure, otherwise sounds like fun.
