Newest home jersey - question about sizing

I need to buy a replica home jersey (such as the ones sold in the BigSoccer store) for a friend. I know all of his jerseys from years past are size Large... Do the newest jerseys fit the same, or are the sizes cut smaller (or bigger?) Should I get him a large of the newest jersey too?

Anyone know anything about this??

(Notice how I avoided using the phrase 'new jersey'? Just thinking about it made me throw up in my mouth a little.)

In the past I'd bought the adidas XL because A) I was carrying around a few extra pounds I didn't need and B) it was just cut better and fit nicely around my shoulders. I bought the XL last year and it was HUGE!

A regular Large is what the XL used to be. So if you wear a medium you might want to stick with it.

ps...I'll bring it to the tailgate if you want to get an idea.
