This could be the worse news for toronto fans.Richard peddie and his side kick could be out of work very soon. The mlse board is livid at the two for multi reasons the biggest is there overspending. These two have been the ones pushing the mls team idea and not everyone on the board agrees with them and if these two are let go you could all but kiss the mls team chances for 07 good bye.

After the Seattle and Philadelphia stuff I'm not sure you are seen as being a credible news source any more.

Just did and I didn't see anything like that on there. I doubt very much Peddie would be stupid enough to push something like MLS publically unless his board was fully supportive. He is after all the hired help. Just for your info I have actively supported the Lynx but they lack the level of investment required to take soccer from the minor league barely rates a mention on The Fan and two column inches if you are lucky in The Toronto Star level of coverage to being treated like the Rock and the Argos.

TSN is hardly a credible soccer source for anything positive on the game in
Canada are they? The Fact that Rogers owns them and the Lose Jays, maybe
they are scared of more summer time competition. If MLS does die so does
Soccer in Canada, none of us are going to pay good money to watch the
A-league crap. Just read the article and it's say nothing about MLSE not going after a MLS franchise. It' mentions the fact the two men may have their jobs reviewed after the seasons end with the result of the poor effort
of the Raptors.

It's not exactly news that there is dissatisfaction about the way things are going with the Raptors:-

The question is whether the MLS project hinges on the hired help or on a decision made at the board level.

You should really go and support rhe lynx don't be picky. As with the mls team this is peddie's baby the board is not happy with some moves he has made over spending etc.He is the one who went to the board the point is many feel if he does get fired it very well could delay the mls team.

Do you have difficulty with comprehending the English language? I have already told you on this thread that I do go to watch the Lynx from time to time. I think the Lynx are under-appreciated as an entertainment product but Toronto being the way it is with minor league sports leagues from what I see that is unlikely to change. Hence the need for MLS and a greater level of investment than the Hartrells can afford.
As for the stuff about the inner working of MLSE it is obvious that you were going to keep coming up with new angles on here like the obviously concocted new improved Seattle/Philadelphia bids rumour until you found an approach that actually worked for you. With the scale of investment potentially involved I doubt very much an MLS bid hinges on one paid employee.

First i was not talking to you the other poster said he would not waiste his money on the lynx.I give you credit the lynx need support and for what ever reason they get very little. They need fans like you to support them.Peddie is more then one paid person he has alot of power i would not say if he is fired that would be the end of the mls far from it.It would more then likely get pushed back a couple year hey they may bring a guy over from the uk who may make the psuh big time who knows. The fact is mlse is going to have some changes tell me this if you had the choice of say losing the raps and gaining a msl team would you go for that.

Personally obviously yes, but from a dispassionate business standpoint I think we have to keep in mind that MLS has a salary cap of about $US 2 million while the Raptors have a cap of about $US 34 million so MLS is closer in scale to the Argos and Rock than to the Raptors, Leafs and Jays. If the Raptors are just not cutting it in terms of making it worthwhile opening up the ACC 40 plus times a year then like the Grizzlies in Vancouver they will be gone regardless of soccer. If I were MLSE I would like to see the Harrison NJ deal finalized and significant progress being made in getting DC United out of RFK and the Wizards and Earthquakes sold to owners who will build SSSs or relocated. If the league losses can be minimised and the stadium at York gets built then a Toronto MLS franchise looks like a blue chip long term investment to me although not so hot short term.

Here is the problem with the Lynx in a nutshell. 1) I live a hour outside Toronto so i need the Greyhound to get into TO, then the Stadium the Lynx play is in Missisauga, so your talking a long subway ride, then the Toronto bus. With the last greyhound leaving Toronto at 10:30 pm a Lynx game would have to be over by 9:30 at the latest to be able to make the Greyhound connection out of Toronto. That is a bit much. 2) The Lynx have not gone out of their way to be a winning franchise, only one maybe two playoff appearences in their history. Thats way they get little fan support. Yes lets lose the Raptors and take the MLS team anyday.

It is not a lock the mls would be winner any time soon.It is sad that you will not support a team that does not win.I can understand that that is hard for you to get there is it going to be any easer at the new place will you be able to afford the tickets.Again more then anyone i would love to see a mls team in toronto but they will need to build from the ground up.Are there enough talented players in canada to have a winning team.

Who says the entire team has to be Canadian? I would rather watch a MLS bulid from the ground up rather then,
watch the Lynx put out a poor product year after year and,
get nowhere.

Well that still gives plenty of Canadian players positions to grab.

Yeah, like 15 or more.

Oh, and vary the punctuation, capitalization idiocyncracies as well...and spelling mistakes...
