So Brook and I were talking after the home opener, and he wants to do a Crew Brew sometime this season. When it's warm, but not the overly hot weather of late July, August, etc.
Here's the Saturday schedule. Wednesdays suck for Crew Brew.
May 28, 2005 · 7:30PM ET v. Metros
June 11, 2005 4:00PM ET v. Rapids (espn2)
July 2, 2005 · 7:30PM ET v. DC
July 9, 2005 · 7:30PM ET v. San Jose
Anything after that, and it starts to get really hot/humid/icky... Before these dates is almost too early to plan it, ferment it, etc.
IMO, that July 2nd date would probably be best, against DC. If there's any left over (HA!), then he could bring it down on the 9th.
Any dates look good to anyone else? When do we want 72 bottles of 22oz beer at our tailgate and not have to worry about bringing it??
New people who may not know: Brook (Cleveland), occasionally bottles a beer of our choosing and brings it down to a tailgate for us. Usually there's a small donation requested which either goes to help offset production cost or to help bring down a youth team coached by Detroit Mike.

The 2nd sounds good to me. The Fourth of Crewly(stolen from Wittler) would be a good time for some good beer.

02 July v the hated DCU does sound like a good time for a nice summer wheat. And I think I'm off that weekend so I can stay overnight an d not have to worry about the Troopers on my way home.
You guys let me know what you'd like, style wise.

Brook gets a day off??
This Crew Brew...what is it comparable to?

Krypto-- My fault, I'm not off until the last weekend of the month. So, I would prefer bringing it down on that date. Jeradballerina-- What type of beer do you prefer. That's what I can brew. This is a "supporters' choice". Whatever I'm told, I brew.

A massive brew for a massive club is the only way I can describe it. We talk about what we'd like (dark, light, thick, etc.) and Brook brings us something down based upon what we choose.

That would be July 23rd v. KC. 7:30 kickoff. Any leftovers, we'd probably have to save for an Open Cup match, but those are always mid-week.
Next Saturday home game after that is August 20th at 4 PM against Dallas.
Something did sound fishy though about that July 2nd weekend off. I think you'd be needed that weekend, given the parties and all.

brook, id like to see a nice strong stout, in honor of crew players like oughton, marshall, busch, and the stout defense we had last season. not to mention to honor our black jerseys.
:D

OGHT! A stout in the middle of summer? Would have worked in Charleston!

I am very partial to Mackeson Triple Stout but that might be too thick for the season. A good wheat beer you can never go wrong. However one that is wet and cold and far superior to one that is not.

sure a stout in summer.
nothing wrong with a nice, smooth, STRONG, imperial stout on a warm summer day (while sitting in the shade, of course :D)

Is it too complicated to do 36 stouts and 36 summer brews??

Maybe that's what we need to make the Crew atleast LOOK like they're trying, to just get stupid drunk.

Nah didn't work last night.
Maybe a case or two of a fine arsenic pale ale perhaps?
