I didn't see in any of the threads, and checked out some soccer sites...who won the other CONCACAF Cup match? Not quite looking ahead to the next round yet, but you know, I'd like to see who we'll be playing.

1-1 at halftime. Martinez of Monterrey scored on a 20 yard screamer in the 43rd minute. Gomez of Saprissa equalized on a PK in the 45th minute on a very weak PK call (the kind that home teams usually get - unlike the foul on Stokes in the 2nd half last night that should have been a PK).

at least they use real fan noise for our home games. I wish they'd put some mics pointing in our direction, but with the lyrics of our songs, I understand why they don't. :-D

Keeping us off the air isn't sufficient, though.

I'm pretty sure mic is right in front of us cos ball hit add panels by 135 once during game on tv and it sounded like cannon :D

I was thinking if that last goal went the other way the fans mightv'e stormed the field. If DC and Saprissa both advance (unlikely both needing to win at Mexico but still) then CONCACAF might force an empty Saprissa again. The ref was hit by a coin and had to halt play for a few minutes. DC winning at Saprissa in the final would not be the safest place to be for a MLS team.

I know they have cops at games down there cos I follow it a bit, but they sure seem to have invented invisible camo paint too, aside from 3 turtles shielding ref I didn't see any. :)

This is a funny thread -- it's been up for nearly 12 hours, it has an [R] in the title ... and yet nowhere on it can you actually be informed of the result!

Actually that would be a helluva road trip. I'd definately be down for that.

Mexico's road warriors one step from dream final (http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/index/0,2442,106122,00.html?comp=CWC&year=2005&articleid=106122) (FIFA.com)
Should DC United somehow overcome the curse of Mexico (no MLS team has ever won or even tied south of the border), they would host the first leg of the final (http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.asp?id=2999) on May 4th at RFK stadium.

Ditto. Hell, I lived in Germany when all the English teams were banned from European competitions because of the Heysel disaster. That stadium is only about a three hour drive from where I lived.
