our club is small,so our picking list for kids is small, this is my first year for doing all-star,we have being working on drills for defense,(pressure, cover and balance),and the kids do it well as can be expected, but when we do a scrimage they look terrible, because were indoors our club head coach says scrimmages arent a good idea indoors and skills and conditioning should be the whole practice, the kids want to scrimmage, what are your opinions on what an indoor pratice should be for this level, there a mixed team

Scrimmage is VERY important on any team. Kids can do the drills forever, its a controlled environment, but in a game situation, they have to first recognize the situation is the same as the drill they just did, then react to it.

With an all-star team scrimmage is also important, the kids need to learn how to play with each other, team cohesiveness is only achieved through game situations.
