Throughout the game workers were busy cleaning up the outfield wall after someone wrote -D.C. United - by the 380-foot marker.
Alright. Confess. Who wrote that?

United settles for tie against Pumas (http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20050407-123312-6610r.htm) - Haydon, W. Times

Haydon says "the tournament determines the top club in the hemisphere". Uh...the eventual Copa Libertadores champ may beg to differ.

Freddy seems to be reacting maturely to his lack of minutes so far.

From dcunited.com:

"If I start great but if I come on late I'm looking to run at tired defenders. If I keep doing that and I keep playing well that's how you get playing time."

That pk call was a disgrace, and I think it's only realistic to say it robbed DCU of a chance to win the semifinal round. You will not be allowed to win in Mexico. A win by a US team simply will not be allowed. You will have goals called back, you will give up at least one pk. As bad as this ref was for the home match, the match in Mexico is a done deal.

The worst thing about being cynical is having to watch while being proved right.

Here's the AP's take via Yahoo on the game (actually it's as much as the baseball to soccer conversion). Still some nice stuff about the game and crowd:
