after psv was kind of having the run of play a bit, lyon went down and danced around the box for a while with some poor psv defending then the ball got to malouda on the left side and he slotted it home

Two good missed chances, at the 32d and 38th
mn. for Essien would have done just that (the
second one hit the post).
But...not being scored might even be better.

I would not feel comfortable going back to Holland up 1-0. They need at least 1 more. PSV doesnt look like it will get an away goal they havent threatened much. Unless they get a fluke one.
