Looks like we have a bit of a dilemna on our hands. Rio and Terry are proving themselves to be possibly the two best defenders in the premiership and good performances for England have only bettered their reputations together. If, when he returns, Campbell gets back to his near best should he start in the England back four? Please. Vote.......................... Now.

Terry and Rio should start every game.

Well Terry has done brillaintly for Chelsea over the last 2 seasons and has been great leader but i'm yet to see him have a great game for England, he was poor at Euro2004 so bringing Sol back might be a good idea but Terry is very good aswell.

Yes, although your question is rather academic. Campbell simply isn't as mobile as he used to be; he won't ever get close to his best again.

Terry and Ferdinand should be the first choice partnership now. We need to give them as much experience playing together as possible before the next world cup.

I feel Campbell should definately start if 100% healthy. He and Rio have a great chemistry together. Next to that would be Terry followed by a closing Ledley King.

i'll start with Terry at the back with Rio if i were Sven, cuz Terry's been impressive for Chelsea this season, shown great leadership and superb reading of every game and has proven deadly on set pieces. His goal scoring record for a centre-back is quite amazing...8 goals in all competitions this season for the Blues. Campbell's ok...but whatever it is,it's still up to Sven.

no attack or midfield in the world can get past that
and with neville and ash cole attacking abilities they will support the midfield

Terry has proven that he is worthy of his place in the team, and there is no way Campbell should replcae him when he is in such good form.

i hate the 5-3-2...we won't have the offensive weapons up front...

we will be missing our best crosser, best corner taker, and as well as our best set piece taker.

5-3-2....hmm..worth trying...quite like it......oh, come on.. stevie and lamp can deliver those fantastic crosses and take the corner as well as the free kicks, maybe even better than Beck??!!

We need to play that if we get to the WC final. If we played it every game we would probably just get slated for being boring.

No, not if we play 442 - got to be Rio and Terry all the way now - although i do rate campbell alot - just imagine: Campbell and woodgate as you SECOND choice partnership! not too bad

i wouldn't mind seeing sven try this though:

..........................Robinson

................Rio......Campbell.....Terry

Neville................................................A.Cole

..........beckham/j.cole....Lamps....stevie

.....................Rooney

...................................Owen

This will be the lineup you can mark it down!!

--------------Robinson-----------------
Neville---Rio-----Campbell----Cole------

Beckham--Lampard---J. Cole---Gerrard

---------------Rooney
------------------------Owen

England plays its best with the 4-4-2 period.

Interesting you bring this up, as mobility/pace has never been Terry's strong point. Campbell has the edge over Terry on that. How do you know Campbell won't get back to his best? Are you from the future?

Campbell should definately be worried as Terry is really making the selection difficult. Campbell will have to get back to near his best after injury as he isn't neccessarily going to walk straight back into the team.

Terry and Ferdinand should be the first choice partnership now. We need to give them as much experience playing together as possible before the next world cup.
Crikey, people are always forgetting stuff. Campbell was immense at the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004. Remember the loss to Portugal? Campbell was a rock, supported very well by Terry of course. Terry may have to wait untill 2008 to overtake Campbell properly.
