In all seriousness this would be a bad move for EJ. The kid is good, but he isn't better than Rooney, Van Nistelroy, or for that matter Smith or Saha. I hope he realizes that and goes to a middle of the table team, or Everton. GAM and Marcus Bent score all my goals for my FIFA 2005 Everton side.

Excellent point. Paging Steve Bruce. Steve Bruce, please come to the customer service desk, we found your missing striker.

I agree. If he isn't going to play he's better off here. On the other hand, I can't see Ruiz and him clicking. There can only be one king of the mountain.

If when he does finally go, he ends up at Chelsea's certified Eindhoven striker academy, I'll be quite pleased. :D

In five years the midfield will have Beasly and Robben on the wings, Frankie in the middle and GAM and Carlton Cole up top. Still holders, by the way!

I believe some of those quotes from Manchester Online are recyled from a story I saw some months ago.

Typical U.K. press bull**********.

And the next day Fergie moans about having too many youngsters on contract, paucity of reserve matches, etc., and dumps 6 players off one of the reserve teams.

Still think this is a good spot for EJ? I'm not so sure.

I think this would be a good move for EJ. With MANU only having one reserve team now more players will be going on loan to lesser teams to get playing time. EJ (and Spector) can play for whoever till the mother ship needs them.

Isn't "Tribal Football" one of Bergin's outlets?

Hell no.

Interesting most of the comments on the manchesteronline article are from Americans. My favorite by far had to be this one, though:

"I doubt Eddie will make an impact at OT, apart from perhaps being instrumental in bringing the most talented of all youngsters to OT - ADU, Freddie. I think they play for the same club, and aren't both born in Ghana?"
Gunny Tuff, Oslo

Can't really blame him for not knowing, but it's still kinda funny to me for some reason.

Something about the original poster's profile leads me to believe that nothing he says or posts is worth reading.

the quote abot the work permit is apparently months old. I don't think anything has come out of Eddie's mouth in awhile about Manchester United

This is old news, and anyway the thread title is misleading. ManU having interest or even making an offer is not the same think as EJ being ManU-bound. Still, I think ManU would be a bad place for EJ, at least right now. They have a host of good forwards who get hardly any playing time--Saha, Smith--and plenty of promising youngsters who keep playing for the reserves or out on loan (Coop, Rossi). I'd prefer to see him at one of the better teams in a mid-level league (PSV, perhaps Benfica) where he could develop for another year or so before hitting the true big-time.

PSV would be a good fit. Good combo with V.Hasselink. He'll have a better chance at getting playing time but the competition wont be as good week in and week out in holland. A major plus for PSV is that they will be competing in uefa next year too
