*USA will never in hell be good at football, no chance at all.
Peoples of USA is dumb if they rather look at MLS than a European or South american or maybe a Asian or perhaps African league. Not that i doesnt like USA but you dont have a chance if FIFA or UEFA would arrange a tournament with Europes 5 best team, Africas 5 best, South Americas 5 best......and so on. I bet you didnt win a single match. IŽd play money on that.
Got to say this almost all (90%) of your so called "star players" is overestimated look at worthless piece of crap as Landon Donovan who wouldnt score 20 goals in Estonias premier division. Tim Howard, Brad Friedel, Steven Cherundolo, Claudiu Reyna and Casey Connor is other examples of piece of crap.

*please keep in mind that this is highly controversial material and it is likely for north americans especially USA to getupset of this statement.

If we ever played Sweden, we would kick your butts all over the place. Team USA is number 10 in the world for a reason and the reason is that we rock. Who are you to say that Brad Friedel or Tim Howard are bad keepers? Especially when Manchester United -- one of the world's best teams -- starts Howard. Brad Friedel got a clean sheet for Blackburn this week. You are stupid. USA has outstanding strikers like Donovan and Eddie Johnson and we have our choice of world class goalkeepers. Get used to the idea that you will be losing yet another sport to American domination.

There might be a slight increase. There are some interesting things to watch like EJ and Ruiz, LD in LA, chivas real salt lake youri, so u never know!!!!
I don't think Youri will have any effect on the people watching from home. Yeah... he won a World Cup.... who cares. He's old and craptastic. He means nothing to the league (except the Metrostars, who are praying to God that he doesn't drop a glass of pickles on his foot)

And how did Sweden do in the last two World Cups?

Peoples of USA is dumb if they rather look at MLS than a European or South american or maybe a Asian or perhaps African league.
I think a Metrostar, DCU, Galaxy, etc fans would rather watch their local team. I go and see my local Division 4 team all the time, even when European teams are on TV, and I am not dumb.

Tim Howard, Brad Friedel.... is other examples of piece of crap.
You're right, the last two EPL Best XI 'keepers are total crap.

We already are good in soccer. have you checked the FIFA rankings???? i just simply love your sarcasim by the way!!! Yeah I guess being named one of the best 11 for world cup 2002 must really be crappy for Reyna. Being the best keepers in the english premier league must suck to. I guess you have to be crappy to when you beat portugal in a world cup. I guess you have to suck to beat a brazilian team with romario, tafarel, edmundo, (still in prime!) by the way:
*Peoples of USA is dumb

yeah, its to bad we're dumb cause we at least know how to spell!!!! :D

wow. You're enjoying posting on an American Soccer website. That's almost as ironic as you telling us how bad we are while we're ranked higher than you. Our Nationals have as much depth and talent as most national teams right now, and most of our first string players are playing on the best teams in Europe. I'm through wasting time with you, because you obviously have no clue about what your talking about.

btw, because of the Pope's death, the First Kick game was shown live on ESPN last week instead of the rerun of the College 3 point and Dunk contest.

What I hate is how ESPN shows Champions League highlights in America after the games are over, but never shows any MLS highlights. Personally I think the MLS is better than most people think. The difference between MLS and other leagues is that the stands aren't packed full which doesn't make it as interesting. For small reasons like that, people think the league is no good. D.C. United has beat Hot Spurs multiple times and the MLS hasn't done bad against other European and CONCACAF club teams.

MLS is treated like UNC basketball. UNC was picked 3rd in the ACC the year they only won 8 games overall, but the press and Dick Vitale love Duke and UNC, so even if they suck they still get all of the attention and the press still makes the public believe they are the best team in the nation. MLS is the same way. No matter who they beat or how good the teams are, they still get no respect. I think the MLS blew it a little when they started out with their own set of rules in 1996. I had to quit watching in 1997. I couldn't stand watching MLS style shootouts.

As far as Landon goes, I like him but I think his running back home with his tail between his legs lost him credibility as a great potential player. He failed his first time out, now was his time to go back and show how he has matured.
Instead, he just failed again. He is not a draw anymore.

I completely agree. There is something cool about watching a really talented player in a non-major league play and to know that you are seeing somebody who one day will be a big time player on a big time team. Landon has lost that completely. He will forever be a big fish in a small pond, and the saddest part is that this is the way he apparently wants it.

I bet it wasn't very demoralizing to the 27,000 in attendance on Saturday. People are already ceasing to care about Donovan's saga.

Admittedly, the mls has lower quality broadcasts than the nfl, nba, etc. But this is one of the major reasons I love soccer! I dont need all of the fluff and BS and stats- I want running, kicking, throwing, etc. I dont want endless time-outs to create pseudo-drama. I can appreciate the mls. Is it the best league in the world? No. But it is watchable if you are a soccer fan. And with the return of Donovon, it is much more entertaining than without him. thanks Landon.

This year MLS has better looking kits (danke adidas). My theory: nicer jerseys = higher ratings. Call me crazy.

Seriously you honestly believe that USA is a good football country, no sorry.
You say you are ranked the 10:th best in the world, its not because you are good its because FIFA wants the americans to like football so they can get more money.....You who honestly believe that you earned it the honest way are incredible naive.
I know very much about football
I have won alot of football quiz contests
I know what im talking about
USA is not so bad as I make them i think USA is about the 30-40th best.
Tim Howard good? No, many big clubs have that problem (bad keepers)
Ask yourself if Tim Howard is good enough to be the first choice in one of the worlds biggest clubs?
My answer:No
Arsenal and Liverpool are two other examples, Arsenal: Almunia and Lehmann
Liverpool:Dudek and Carson (ok Carson has potential)

Fact:USA is on the way forward but nowadays they are overestimated

And one other thing you arent so powerful as you think especially in Basketball...............Argentina, Lithuania, Italia are better than you....

*I dont dislike USA its just facts :)

STF you are on a soccer forum there will be people on here who know more than you but most will not brag about it. You sound like a very sad "playa hata" . I think the US has it easy with the quality of the teams in their confederation but a lot of teams duck and run and don't play friendlys against teams like England and Germany.

I'm English and while I in my heart truely belive England is better than the US but I at least respect them as an opponent. I can't wait until we play on their turf, and I may have to eat an entire humble pie by myself. The US legitimized themselves to me against Germany in the last world cup.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You are a classy guy. I'm looking forward to seeing England play Team USA too. You have a terrific team with Owen, Rooney and Beckham and I wouldn't be surprised to see you folks lofting the Cup at the end of Germany '06.

Come on England is one of the worlds most overestimated teams....thay cant beat Sweden................no no.....i think they dont get far...who is going to carry the team? Beckham no to bad, Lampard he cant play without Makelele, Rooney come on..if he would have been lets say 28 and exactly the same he wouldnt have played with Man Utd.......no more like Fulham, Owen no he is rottening on the bench, Scholes retired from National team, then hmm who is going to do it for you????
Steven Gerrard? never liked that kid, always injured
You got one really high class player and he doesnt even play in National team anymore,,,,,,,,,,,,im talking about Alan Shearer.
