US will not win............. easily

The US will win this one easily. They are going to take out their anger on Guatemala after the Mexico debacle. The US win in Guatemala will not come quite as easy though :)

US wont win this one

I agree...

If USA only won 2-1 in T&T, chances are they wont win in Guatemala...
This comparison is a fallacy, but this is what i think and envision.

As for the game in the US, i think US may come out with 3 points, but i do feel that Guatemala will put up a good game. If luck is on Gua's side then they leave the states with 1 point.

Please guys. Let's be realistic. Guatemala is a good team but they are going to lose badly to the US on Wednesday. This is different US team than past ones that edged inferior teams by the odd goal or two. There is a lot of talent on this squad. Comparing the result at Trinidad is ridiculous because the US players had not played in months because of the lockout. They will be looking to make a statement against Guatemala. That being said, good luck to all Guatemala fans

Don't you think that Guatemala will remain on a high after crushing the Soca Warriors?I think that this match can end in a draw because there is no way that Guatemala will lose without fighting a good fight(a la Panama 6-0....)!But I have to agree that the US is the clear favorite going into this one!

I think Guatemala can win this game but has to play great defense, thats all we need we have the forwards already.

We just edged out TnT and Honduras by a goal, in only two months of time, unless you don't think those teams are "inferior". Personally, I wouldn't underestimate Guatemala, especially with Maradiaga as their coach. He beat us once before at home with Honduras breaking our 16 year undefeated record for qualifiers at home, he might be confident he can do it again. Besides the last team we blew out in a competitive game was Panama and that was months ago. If the US wins, I don't see it being a huge blowout, 1-0 or 2-1 at the most.

USA should win, just on location. Alabama?!? Pure genious! I don't believe that there are many latinos around that area. Then again, there might be a similar situation to the CR-Panama game... there may not be anyone in the stands at the stadium - err, sorry, field ! This would definitely even the contest. Either way, good luck, Guatemala... y'all gonna need it!

USA 2, Guate 1

Get a little perspective on things. The game against Honduras was a friendly and it was a team composed of all MLS players. A glorified practice session that we dominated from start to finish. Again, the game against TnT was right after the lockout. The US players had one week to prepare for that match. When the US plays TnT on US soil, they will win by a 5 or 6 goal margin.

USA 2 Guat 1

IF Bruce decides to bunker again like the Mexico game Guatemala will win 1-0 and I hope he gets fired for being a complete moron for wasting talent by using senseless formation.

You can't compare the two teams by their respective results against T&T because the US is a different team when they play at home than when they are away. We drew 1-1 with Panama and then beat them 6-0 at home so the win in Trinidad was actually a very good result for us. The longer it takes us to score, the more difficult it will be but I have the US to win 2-0.

no where in my previous post did i talk about GUA vs T&T in Gua... what i was trying to say is that the US doesn't play very well in away clashes... they barely edged past T&T and as u mentioned barely drawing to Panama in Panama City... and so, based on this... i don't think they can come out with a full three points in Guatemala, or even a point at all.

Now, the game today is a different story... they are playing in home soil and they do have more talent, so i feel they have the upperhand... The Guatemalan team seems to function very well as a team unit, and if luck is on their side they may be able to come out of the states with a point.

i saw that US plays Guatemala on espn2 at 5pm, but what i see is more a wrestling match rather than a soccer match, its amazing the crap the US gets away with
