After thumping Norn Iron 4-0 its time to turn are focus to Azerbaijan. Poland put 8 goals past them yesterday and if they defend like that again just think how many we could put past them? but i expect them to defend better for this one but i reckon we'll win 3-0 to 5-0 and Rooney to score again for England

If azerbaijan take another hammering I think their Brazilian coach will quit.

Im tipping a 4-1 win for england.

i think it will be the same as vs n.ireland tough wihlst its at 0-0 but then we should turn them over after 1 goal, 4 or 5-0.

Hopefully Northen Ireland can do us a favour and scrape a draw against Poland. Though I expect the Poles to smash a couple past them.

I see a 9-0 win with Beckham, Rooney, Owen, Gerrard , Cole, Dyer, and Lampard scoring all the goals. Maybe Robinson will even score? :)

Who is their coach? Carlos Alberto Torres? He's known to be a crappy coach in Brazil now, leading clubs to the relegation zone. He won some important trophies in the 80s but his aproach as coach seems somewhat outdated.

I hate to make predictions, I've still got teethmarks on my arse after last time I said England would win!
We do have to get organized in the first half this time though, that would made a real difference.

MORAL will be low and even worse if they were to see how RAMPANT England were!

I am with you Danny/Donny ....... whatever!

All England fans are optimistic so why not DOUBLE FIGURES?

What a STATEMENT to the world!

Tell you what, it has been a while since I saw them play football that well controled and FAST .......... infact, I dont ever recal (lol).

WELL GERMANY!

Cum on the lads, lets get that consistency going, thats what we now need to do.

MILSO - I hope too, a bad day at the office for Poland and a good one for N.I.

If we score early, there confidence will be shattered and it'll be a thrashing.

If we don't do anything stupid, we should win easily. I'm not making any predictions though

Well found that man (MtP)!

What is that all about, as a coach, how can you say that?

You must always remain confident and give your players a belief.

My lads have their first game today and preparation is SO IMPORTANT! They will go onto that pitch fired-up and ready to do a job.

If I have a belief about an opposition team, and I have a few this season the lads will never guess.

Someone fancy explaining that?

One minute he says double figures, I make that 2 more than POLAND (min) and then next he thinks they are better than us after we have already beaten them????

I say, come-on Ireland

He be wrong.

Hmmm...Milos, are you more knowledgeable about soccer than the captain of the 1970 World Championship team? Or perhaps the both of you are full of it? Anyway, his remarks have been taken out of context on soccernet. I read the entire interview that he gave after the Poland game, and the gist of Torres' remark was that Poland played his team better than England did, and that based on that alone he felt that Poland was the better team. At this time. Obviously in September England was better than Poland - only a fanatic would deny it.

Having watched the Pol-Azer game I don't think it's possible for Azerbaijan to play any worse than they did on Saturday. They came out looking to score, and were quickly punished. After the second goal (own goal), they just gave up, completely resigned themselves to a defeat...and that was only about twenty minutes into the match. If they choose a more defensive tactic against England from the beginning they can hold you to two/three goals.
