Driving up to Decatur today, I stopped at a mall in Fort Worth to see if I could find anything related to FC Dallas, merchandise-wise (long shot, I know!). I stopped at a ball-cap kiosk, and asked the guy if he had any hats, to which he replied, "FC What?" I explained it was his local soccer team, and I swear I could see the lightbulb come on over his head - "Oh, you mean the Dallas FIRE!" I groaned, covered my eyes, and said no, the Fire hailed from Chicago, whereas the Burn are undergoing a transformation, et cetera, ad nauseum... To which he brightly responded by trying to sell me a Chicago Fire cap. I said something unprintable about Chicago in general and the Fire in particular, and he kinda got upset (turns out he's from Chicago). I told him to go check out Saturday's game, as I'll be back in Houston and unable to cheer on our boys, but I doubt he will go (work commitments). Sorry I couldn't get another butt in the stadium for you guys, even though he would theoretically have been competition for you all... :o
