I was just searching the threads and found nothing for FC Kaiserslautern? Wassup with that? Granted they are not the best team in the Bundesliga, but they are still top 10 and I like them. If there are any more out there, sound off!!

nope you are the first. But the teams who are supported here are really random. For example, we have an Eintracht Braunschweig fan.

Well now I don't feel so lonely.

Strange, isn't it! :D
I think the only Bundesliga teams that are not represented here on the board are Rostock (maybe Grizzly), Freiburg, Bielefeld and Bochum.

Well, i think there was another Lautern fan at one point or another... No current regular here though.

Damn, i can't think of anything witty to say...

Sometimes I feel like the only Hertha fan...but the Hertha thread does well, it gets a lot of response...some people just don't know who they like :P
Quite frankly, if it wasn't for Hertha, I would be a Kaiserslautern fan, I really dig the underdog and I like their team, their fans and their stadium.

Well, it is quite random in here, but we grow and grow each day and one day we'll take over the (Bundesliga Internet) world!

I became a HUGE Lautern fan back in the early 90's when I was stationed in Southern Germany at a little Air Base called Sembach which was about 10 minutes from Kaiserslautern. Also a very good friend of mine was born there and his family were big fans... that kind of rubbed off on me. I am kind of sad though because I don't get to see the games that often. FSC plays them intermittantly at best...

The simple answer to this question is yes :D . Actually Kaiserslautern is quite well supported attendance wise in their city but has very little support throughout Germany or internationally. Probably has to do with not having the tradition or success of clubs like Bayern and coming from a small industrial city not known for anything other than the club itself. On the other hand most of Germany including myself were cheering for them when they won the title mostly for underdog and anti-Bayern reasons.
As far as my Bundesliga sympathies I do cheer for eastern teams and teams with Canadian players but this is all relative. I am not a particularly strong supporter of Rostock other than that they are the only eastern team in the league and I think it will be terrible not to have one eastern team in the top tier as looks likely next year. I was more partial to Cottbus when they were in the 1st Bundesliga than Rostock. Nevertheless I think it would be better if some of the eastern clubs from big cities with big fan bases and more tradition would make it to the 1st Bundesliga instead of clubs like Rostock, Cottbus and in the 2nd BL Aue. As impressive as their achievements are clubs like this are only fighting to avoid relegation. I think teams such as Dynamo Berlin, Dynamo Dresden, FC Magdeburg and my beloved Sachsen Leipzig would be much better for the Bundesliga than Rostock or Cottbus and have more potential to be strong teams if their management can ever get their act together. I obviously like Bremen, Hannover and Saarbruecken because of the Canadian players but Bremen is the only one I like irregardless of whether a Canadian plays for them. The other teams I like in the BL are 1860 (though currently in 2BL) and Hertha.
I don't think that it is any surprise that a Braunschweig fan posts here as they have a very large fan base that is Bundesliga size. There are quite a few clubs in lower divisions with large support but obviously they don't have much international support nor are their issues often discussed on a board such as this so there is less reason to post here.

Plus we had an American playing for us, who was the reason I started to post here in the first place.
Hmm... maybe I just should have said "Grizzly got it right", or something like this :D.

Keith's Response: Alex K, were you referring to Jacob Thomas?? Where did he go? Did he join Siegen or Luebeck?? I heard he joined one of those two. A friend of mine in Austin knows his brother.

Keith's Response: If you aren't James Brock, are you a part of the FCK discussion group at Yahoogroups?
I haven't seen many FCK fans here, but you have some "vocal" ones at that group! LOL!!

Yes, there is. I used to be a part of that group. It's moderated by a friend of mine.
The group name is "kwd". Stands for Kaiserslautern Web Devils.
Hope you find it well enough. One of the biggest fans on the list is also in NYC. That's why I thought you might be him.
