From the sun at: [scroll down to second reference on Charlton]

So, the question is, should these two be sold? Jeffers has been injured and unwilling to do what it takes defensively to play on a wing. And he's not target man. Rommedahl too has lacked the defensive ability to start regularly.

Jeffers seems to continue to be a whiner when not injured. Another former Arsenal player [I know he started at Everton] that can't seem to grow up.

Rommedahl just seems lazy when he needs to work hard on defense.

I personally was hoping for a better showing from both next year. I had figured that more time under Curbishley would help them see what effort and heart can do for their individual play and position in the club.

And thus, a poll is born.

Sell Jeffers.
Sell Rommedahl.
Sell both.
Sell neither.

...if not likely. This was reported in The Sun:

CHARLTON plan to get rid of flop striker Francis Jeffers this summer — and he could be joined by Danish winger Dennis Rommedahl, writes CHARLIE WYETT.

Addicks manager Alan Curbishley admits the pair are unhappy at not being regulars in the side and he is ready to offload them to pay for new faces.

Jeffers, 24, was withdrawn from Saturday’s squad against West Brom — with Curbishley insisting he was “ill”.

But the forward, who has scored just four goals since a £2.6million arrival from Everton last summer, told pals he could have played.

Rommedahl, 26, has been inconsistent since his £2m move from PSV Eindhoven in July 2004. Yet, a year earlier, the winger was a target for Manchester United. Curbs wants to sign midfielder Damien Francis, 26, from Norwich.

I realize this is from The Sun who's reputation isn't that great.

Do I think this happen? Jeffers doesn't have a future as long as Alan sticks with 4-5-1. Based on an article by Curbs this past week in one of the English papers about how everyone is playing it and how it is working for him I'd have to say that a change away from 4-5-1 won't be happening.

As for Dennis, I've thought for awhile that he will be gone at the end of the season. Alan and quite a few supporters complain that he doesn't play defense like a full back even though he's a winger. I can see Thomas being permanently moved to the right (where he will struggle and lose his place in the starting eleven) and they will play Konchesky on the left. They may then go looking for another Matt Holland to pair up with Matt at the back.

As an added move I think Euell be out, too. His attitude when he's been brought on to the pitch has not been professional and seems like he's not giving it his all. He's lost all interest since he's not starting. It's a shame considering that, up until this season, he's been the clubs leading scorer since he was purchased. I still believe he'd be a better choice as the lone striker over Bartlett.

I guess what this looks like is an overhaul to the team with emphasis on even more defense and a lack of originality on offense.

Can we combine this with the other thread that has the poll?

Guys I combined these two threads. Hence the duplicate posts.

I am afraid that Rom, Jeffers and Euell will all be gone in the summer. It seems that when a big money (for Charlton) transfer arrives, they often fail to pan out. I had high hopes for Romm, but he just does not seem to fit in. I am not privy to the inside info, so I do not know all the reasons, but if I were a betting person, I would guess that these three would be gone for next season.

how much will they be sold for?

it's a shame to waste the parker money on players they don't even let play

jeffers played well against b city at home with 2 assists, and romm has looked good at times

they should at least get a good run before giving up

what i don't understand is times like the festive week where curbs played the same lineup all 4 games when he could've gotten these players more time

Okay. How do we feel now?

Rommedahl still isn't getting any playing time.

Jeffers starts the second half against Man City. Though he doesn't score a goal, it is his flick on that Perry puts in for the late equalizer. Watching, it seems Franny was starting to make things happen.

I'm still of the opinion you give them both another year under Curbs. I think Franny will come round and mature under Curbs. And if Dennis doesn't play defense, then let him go in January.
