Winning Eleven 8: Liveware

This game came out 3 days ago. I should have it today or tomorrow. Reports from many Evo-Web members have this as the best WE/PES ever!

Some improvements I have heard of so far:
1) Elastico/Flip-flap in the game;
2) More powerful shots (not easier shots though). Also less need to run and gain momentum to get a hard shot;
3) Better crossing. Lower crosses, different levels of curving, etc. Again, not easier, as it is not 100% always going to happen;
4) Players that fight. Not fist-fighting, but you will see 50-50 animations, forwards attacking the goalie or defender trying to get to that ball, etc;
5) Good, strong heading from defenders;
6) Slower paced game/Dribbling made more difficult. Very good news I think;
7) First touch feature. I haven't seen Fifa's version of this, but so far people have said this feature is pretty useful;
8) More volleys. FINALLY, no more headers from 20m out :);
9) Improved AI. The game is less counter-attacking style now, more build-up in the middle, computer marks/defends more realistically;
10) Improved goal keepers. Unfortunately, they still let lame balls roll by;
11) Less slow-downs

Liveware Evolution is the Japanese version of the WE8/PES series. It apparently includes the newest features and attributes of any of the WE8 games.

anyway, i have only played one game so far, but its pretty good.

shooting is much improved, you can feel a difference in the game, better defending, better goalies, new animations, just feels more realistic. im sure it will be better the more i play. oh, and i elasticoed someone dirty.

this game is the bomb and its a huge improvement in terms of gameplay over PES4 so even if we don't get to play Online outside Japan it's still well worth it in my opinion.

It'll keep us busy till WE9 comes out.

agreed. u should add the gangsta ole lite patch. im still trying to figure out how to burn the option file and get it on my memory card. so as of now everything is patched except the player's names. =\

Hi. I haven't gotten into online gaming ever with the PS2, and now -i want to give it a try. From what I hear, this game can only be played in Japan. Now from what I've read around, some games need to connect to a server, and others can do a peer to peer connection, where 1 ps2 is the host and another the client, so for example I could play with a friend knowing each other's ip addresses. Is this so? And if it is, can anyone that has winning eleven liveware evolution tell me if it has this option, so even without being in japan you could play with a friend? Also, if it is like this, what other games have peer-to-peer modes? Thanx!!

you need a japanese ps2. to play you get ur connection info from some service and then connect. the online mode is free, save for a couple of leagues.
so direct connect is a negative.

CAN ANYONE PLS KINDLY LOCATE THE FIX PATCHES FOR WINNING ELEVEN 8 FOR PC......

TRY TO FIND IT BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY....

I'd try to find the fix patches for all the correct jerseys, all CorrectedTeam names such as English premier League also the correction of player's name, France league..,etc...

I got one patch but it only fix the Jersey and The name of the players, but the all English Team names are still not corrected.
