Now we definitely know that soccer has hit the mainstream.
In this weeks' Star Trek: Enterprise, the Captain congratulates one of his crewmen (Reed) on the fact that England made it to the "finals" of the World Cup.
Whether that means they qualified, or they just made it into the tourney is a very good question...
:-)

England in the Final. This clearly shows that Star Trek is more fiction than Science. ;)

In the Deep Space Nine book "A Stitch In Time" there is a rather nice use of footy in the narrative. Elim Garak, the narrator and central character even gets to play keeper.

Let's see Enterprise takes place in what 2160 or so? England won the WC in 1966. One WC championship every 200 years sounds about right! ;)

As William Shatner himself said, "Get a Life!"

William Shatner is God. Following him gives you Life.
And let me add that the book "A Stitch In Time" is really really awesome and that every person who has ever watched DS9 must read it.

And with that, this thread has reached the end of its usefulness.
Trekkies may go to FFA if they are so inclined.
