Well he blew two good chances today that almost cost Liverpool, but he works very hard and is usually the most dangerous player in a red shirt. Benitez will probably ship him out in the summer.

Stop your nonsense right there. Baros is the current Euro Golden Boot winner, please have some respects. His pace is his biggest assets and is coveted by many European clubs.

I believe the jury is still out there for him in Liverpool, afterall this is only his first full season in terms of opportunity to play and Benitez's first season in charge. We also do not know how well Cisse could recover from his horrible injury.

If Cisse comes back and has even 95% of his old pace, I'd unload Baros in a heartbeat. All flash, no bang. For all his physical abilities, I'd rather pocket 7 or 8 million for him, buy a replacement who can finish once in awhile, and have a workman-like fourth stiker like Mellor.

I thought he did well earlier this year, but his form has really dropped off. IMO, he plays with a very selfish style.

If he was a deadly finisher, i could live with his inability to work with his partner, but he isn't, so for all his pace and hard work, I'd be cashing in on his this summer if I'm Rafa.

That he was on the bench for the Cup final speaks volumes to what Rafa really thinks

Buy Eddie Johnson

I think your correct on the part of his cast in euro 2004 but i dont think because they were that good but it was because their styles suited baros the best he needed Koller to be able to control and lay the ball of to him into open space in which he is missing at liverpool when alot of the time he is trying to make the runs and he is losing the ball all the time.

Eddie Johnson is good but not on the level of a premier league top tier team he should of joined benfica when he had the chance to develop and gain interest from the top clubs.

We're all disappointed with his sending off against Everton, but he is a good player out of form at the moment. Perhaps the 3 game break in the Premiership will do him soom good.

I just got done seeing the highlights, and I must say that Baros's finishing was atrocious.

I don't disagree entirely, but if Mellor can have an impact in the EPL as third striker, I don't see how Johnson couldn't.

Same here, and I agree about his finishing. But who do we have can get into those positions? He pressured their D, and from watching the replays, he just appears to be suffering a crisis of confidence at the moment. Not unusual for strikers, is it?

I'm for keeping him - we can't be sure Cisse will even return at this point, and even if he does, has he really proven to be a Prem quality striker yet? Not to me. Morientes is a keeper for sure, but he has played so little that we really don't know if he and Baros will mesh.

I just dont think Johnson could quite adapt to the game if he could of then he would of gotten a contract with Man U during the camp.I consider him a similiar player to Shaun Bartlett of Charlton very similiar players. Neil Mellor was basically a one hit wonder outside of couple of other goals. We also have never seen Johnson play vs quality competition.

Morientes, Cisse, and FSP (too bad all three are injured). And two of them are proven goal-scorers, the third is only 19, so give him time.

Not unusual for strikers, is it?
Yes, but when you're playing in the biggest league match of the season, and you have TWO opportunities that were ridicolously easy, that's a problem. On the first one he shouldn't have hesitated, which allowed the defender to jump in. The second he did everything right, including the stutter step which brought the GK to the ground. Then, with a GK on the ground and no one in sight, he kicks it right into the foot of the GK.

It's one thing for a striker to go on a cold streak, it's another to crap the bed in the season's biggest game, twice.

I'm for keeping him - we can't be sure Cisse will even return at this point, and even if he does, has he really proven to be a Prem quality striker yet? Not to me.
Cisse scored the most goals in Ligue 1 with Auxerre, and he showed during the brief time he was healthy, that he had the skills to compete.

Cisse scored the most goals in Ligue 1 with Auxerre, and he showed during the brief time he was healthy, that he had the skills to compete.

But he suffered an injury so serious that he almost needed his leg amputated. There is no guarentee that he will ever fully recover from it.

I think there will be at least one new striker at Anfield next season.

Tthe top prospect in MLS plays for FC Dallas has something like 7 goals in 6 international games. Good but nothing to special solid player.

He will be one day...but right now, the idea that he's in a discussion about who could replace one of the main strikers at Liverpool Football Club is a bit ridiculous.

I had season tickets for the Burn for three years, and I've seen him play more than a few times (mainly as a sub, but I've seen him score a few really nice goals), and there's no doubt that he'll be an incredible player before we know it...but really, Eddie Johnson is not the replacement for Milan Baros.
