Looks liked you'll have to wait for the next manager

That's fine. I'd rather have this as another reason to respect le boss for the power of his convictions rather than shell out $50 to see our early-round Carling Cup side play against Celtic's b-side anyway.

I know they wouldn't get any where near 600k Pounds in the US, so we certainly won't see them here.
I'm suprised that they don't want to take advantage of the revenues they could generate in China and Japan even for a 1 week tour. But they already are making some good money, so it will never happen.
Titi could be all over the Japanese and Chinese markets like Beckham and Owen and then Arsenal would sell millions of dollars in Merchandise. :D

They already are pretty popular in China. When I was there last year, I saw a ton of Arsenal shirts all over the place. The newspapers there even had big articles on the unbeaten run (I was there during the last game of the season). I don't think the players yet have the name recognition that Owen and Beckham do though. Those are the only two players my girlfriend (who's Taiwanese) knows, though I'm working on that. ;)

I totally agree with you. I see marketing as a serious and real tool needed to build a big club into a worldwide powerhouse. I understand why AW doesn't do tours, but as long as the trophies keep coming in, I won't gripe.

you just stole my thoughts...pay up. seriously though, I couldn't have said it any better than fox. Can you really get excited over seeing a skeleton team playing in a non-competitive match?

Yeah, that's because there is also a trip involved with what you're referring to (especially given that cool places like Slovenia and Austria are involved). Now imagine if these preseason matches were being held in Manchester or Birmingham, would you still be as excited to go?

Except for the Cleveland stop the first year and Pittsburgh last year, most of the ChampionsWorld games were played in pretty decent places. I dunno, NYC, Toronto, LA, Chicago, I wouldn't mind flying to any of those places to see Arsenal, even if it did turn out to be:
Stack/Taylor
Eboue-Senderos-Cygan-Clichy
Ljunberg-Flamini-Fabregas-Reyes
Quincy-VanPersie

Actually, that lineup (except for Cygan) doesn't look too bad. I'd pay to see it without a second thought.
And what is it with everyone ripping on Pittsburgh?

And what is it with everyone ripping on Pittsburgh?I went to school outside of Pittsburgh, and actually like the place. That said, if you look at the other cities I listed, I believe that most people would rather go to those places over Pittsburgh. Of course, that game in Connecticut was probably in the most unexciting place.
And yes Matt, I believe the infamous Asia trip was the last.

I'd almost feel obligated to go if Arsenal ever came to Foxboro. The part of me that didn't feel obligated would justify it any number of ways and so my money would duely leave my wallet. And I'd probably enjoy the game more than one reasonably should.
I won't fault Wenger for not wanting to come, though.
