Yeah they look crap in the sportshoes catalogue, but I still like the new vapors better. Both of the chraome/blue and the white/red ones are well nice. :)

I just got my new pulses, great shoes. I think throughout my soccer career, every season i will wear predators, beacuse they just fit great, imo, much better then vapors. I have the vapors, and they give me crazzy blisters. When do the blue ones hit stores, and also, when do the new air zooms hit stores.

Had anyone noticed a difference in pulses' leather softness between different colors?

I noticed that:

Black/Red: medium :o
Beckham Silver: low :(
Euro 04 Blue: extremely soft
Beckham White: extremely soft

Obviously can't comment on new colours - sorry.

Different softness levels - how are you determining this?? Just perception??? And are they definitely all K-Leather???

We use a number of different physical testing methods, and softness is regulated by extension on the accredited BLC softness gauge tester. They must fall between certain specifications to pass our QC. All colours should be the same. In fact all batches of leather have to pass 18 different tests from a representative sample size of the leather processing batch.

You might not be feeling leather softness in honesty. The finish (which is what we call the surface coating in the leather trade) may have a slightly different surface touch/feel due to the respective binders required to make these colours.

But what you must remember is that the leather undergoes an operation called "lasting" in boot manufacture which stretches the leather. If the machine is not set up 100% perfect it will alter the feel of the leather. In addition, the boots are now heavily lined/backed with foams and other materials. To do this they can either stitch or use an adhesive. It might be this you are feeling as well. Adhesives can firm things up.

Thank you for your comments though and I do look forward to your reply - we can make the leather even softer without too much difficulty. In fact this was desired by the new Nomis brand and as such we have a very specific tannage for them. I will pass on your comments to adidas in Herzo, Germany at our quarterly strategic meeting in May.

Darryl.

i'd just like to say that on my manias the leather colour lasted for a lot longer than my indigo pulses (at the front) :( i hope to see a white predator that is not merchandised by beckham and have his f***i*g logos all over it lol :)

Dr Leather,

Many thanks for your clarifications…

Adidas should consider this issue seriously. The softness levels between different predators’ colors aren’t alike.

What I meant is that softer leather would stretch more to take the shape of the foot. And most probably, I won’t end up with plisters.

Ferreria's not really a flashy player and used to wear the original redblack pulse. so kinda surprised to see him wearing the new blue pulse

I wouldn't call matching your boots with your club's kit (Chelsea) flashy. I would call players like Cristiano Ronaldo flashy because his boots do not incorporate the club's colours at all.
