from several stories posted on the Web ...

“Ashley doesn’t look troubled,” Wenger said. “At some stage, I felt that it did affect him, but he’s over that. Will Ashley stay with us for many years to come? Yes. That’s my wish and I believe it will happen. Anyway, he is under contract until 2007.”

in another story, there were some quotes about this all starting because Cole wanted a pay raise. Wenger said that will be taken care of, but hasn't been yet.

Yeah here is Sky Sports version:
Wenger in Cole admission (http://footballmsn.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=263743&CPID=8&CLID=&lid=3&title=Wenger+in+Cole+admission&channel=Premiership)

I thought the bit at the end about JAR was interesting too. Pretty much "R.Madrid we're waiting for your bid" statements if you ask me.

The guy on FSC said it was 99% that Cole was leaving.

I missed it when Webster was talking about it.

But I am guessing he was just speculating -- you know, just proving he has been reading all about Arsenal in preparation for the telecast. I mean, he didn't cite any "sources close to the team" or anything, did he?

I heard him say the same thing, but then I don't recall them discussing it later at all, which you think they would if it was really happening. Not sure what to make of that statement.

I know what to make of it.....Webster was just blathering so he can have something to talk about in the 2 minutes of air time he gets before the match is turned over to the feed in England. He's a twit.

Load of bull. Wenger was completly mis quoted. He would never say that as that is simply not him.
