good find!!
I guess that means usa and germany won't be drawn together...
we can only presume arena gets the euro together much like the 2002 run - up!!

I don't think it means anything. After all, the US played SK twice in 2002 before their WC match.
Let's just hope this goes better than the last time around.

true, about usa and sk, but I thought teams within the same group generally frowned upon playing one another....

If they're drawn into the same group, they'll just cancel the match.
Having said that, I hope they dont' cancel this match. I'd much rather play Germany in Germany in March instead of in June.

I'd like to see us play Germany both times, plus, if we get them in June it means they'll be the best team in our group--no Brazil, Argentina, etc..---an easier group to qualify from

It would be great to play Germany in March 2006, and then again in early July, 2006..
Perhaps, July 9, 2006, in BERLIN!!

True, but it takes up one of the qualifying spots, since no host team has every failed to advance past the first round.

Call me crazy, but I'm more excited about this match than I am about the England exhibition this summer. (1) everyone will be in final tuneup mode for the WC, (2) we OWE them from J/K -- I still maintain that was the best the USMNT has ever played, even though we lost.

This is alot like the S/K friendly in S/K because it will allow Bruce to take most of his world cup players to Germany to get the lay of the land and experience the country before coming abck for the actual world cup.
It's a small detail, but I think it shows good inteligence on the part of the USSF.

Except not many World Cup players made the trip.
The USA lineup that day:
Zach Thornton, Pablo Mastroeni (Richard Mulrooney 68'),Carlos Llamosa, Jeff Agoos [c], Diego Gutierrez (Carlos Bocanegra 46'), Manny Lagos, Chris Armas, Cobi Jones, (Brian West 72'), Landon Donovan, Josh Wolff, (Jeff Cunningham 46'), Brian McBride (Ante Razov 56').
WC players in bold.

Picky Picky ;)
Seven isn't a bad number.
In any case, for this event, in Europe, before MLS starts, Arena can bring anyone he wants so the number will be even higher then seven.

RunDMB didn't make the trip to SK in 2001. He scored the dramtic winner in the Gold Cup in LA.

Yes, very good point. If Coach Lienen is in the crowd, maybe Clint Commander will have another opportunity to point to his watch :o

I suspect the roster will be largely euros....
why would you bring the mls boys who are in mls camps...
aren't there 18 euros you'd want to fill out the roster with???

How's this for a scenario: Cletus spends the next 12 months playing his way back into the starting 11, gets to Germany for this game, scores, immediately runs off the pitch and out of the stadium, gets in his car, drives to Lienen's house, knocks on the front door, and when it opens, he grabs his crotch and point to his wrist. :D

Sure, but with just 2-3 months to go before the World Cup, Bruce might want to start building his actual team for the World Cup, or at least as close as possible.
