So everyone in the USA was frustrated and unnerved this season when Fox Sports World suddenly only showed second and third choice matches ... Along came ProSiebenSat1.Welt and for a handsome amount of money we were again able to watch the top Bundesliga soccer matches ... until last Saturday ... relying on www.soccertv.com I programmed my DVR to record Schalke-Bayern only to wake up to a taped Dortmund-Stuttgart ... ProSiebenSat1 chose NOT to show the TOP match ... weird ... for this coming weekend, soccertv lists Bayern-Rostock for ProSiebenSat1, but on their own website it's the Kaiserslautern match ... What's going on?
It's so aggrevating - I just want to be able to watch the top Bundesliga matches ... god, I'm paying for it, after all!
Does anyone else out there subscribe to ProSiebenSat1?

Possible that are the rights problems with Premiere TV here in Germany.
When Premiere shows the top game live, no other TV station from this group should allowed to show it live too.

I think there are different rights for each market ... the US seems a bit complicated - Setanta can show one top Saturday match (but only in very few pubs across the country, which is kind of pointless), ProSiebenSat1 seems to have a special deal to show two top matches of their choice on DishTV (that's what they promised at least), Fox Soccer Channel is at the end of the food chain - they can show what no-one wants to see anyway ... haha
I emailed ProSiebenSat1 my complaint and five minutes later the announcement about the Saturay Leverkusen-Kaiserslautern match disappeared from their site ... weird huh? Hopefully it's just a programming mistake on their part.

Pro Sieben, Sat1 are different Stations in Germany (don't know if you know that) but have the same owner. Premiere is in this group and have all the Bundesliga rights, so I think that is problem.
The contract says, when premiere shows a game, all other station are only allowed to show it on tape.

That does not apply to the US though whatsoever...

I'm not sure but I think it`s the same for US Market.
But the free TV rights have ARD and ZDF.
And I do'nt think that they interested other stations show it before they show it.

I`m aware there are different rights for foreign markets.
There could be only trouble with Premiere if one of the channels is to receive in Germany by satellite and broadcasts Bundesliga free too air.

I can't help you with what happened last week (although the Bayern game was on FSC live, so I imagine you could have watched the game), but what are you complaining about this week? Are you arguing that Bayern/Hansa is the "top" match of the week? Perhaps if your definition of "top" is "any game involving Bayern," you might be right, but from my relatively neutral perspective, Bayern/Rostock is a dog. The two most attactive matches of the week are Leverkusen/Lautern (which apparently may be on ProSieben) and Hamburg/Dortmund (which is on FSC). In other words, US fans of the BL (as opposed to US fans of Bayern, an entirely different group) are being well-served this week.

Ha ha ... right on the money, my friend. For me a top match is always a Bayern match I must confess. It's just that Bayern fans have been poorly treated this season by Fox Sports World (I won't even mention ESPN - can't even remeber the last time they showed a CL match with Bayern), so this is quite a sore point ...
I should also be more careful with believing what soccertv.com announces. For some reason they've assumed all season that the upcoming match either on Fox or now on Pro7Sat1 would be the Bayern match ... so I'm looking forward to that all week, just to have it yanked away from me at the last moment.
Since they started Pro7 I was afraid that someone would realize that they don't actually have the rights or some other BS ... so my horror vision of May 21 would be Hertha BSC-Hannover 96 on Fox and 1. FC Nürnberg-FSV Mainz 05 on Pro7 ... and Stuttgart-Bayern on Setanta ....
As for next Saturday, you're right - the Leverkusen and Hamburg matches are pretty important (if you're not an obsessive Bayern fan) :)

I don't know if Bayern fans have been poorly treated as compared to other BL teams (coming from a Wolfsburg fan who has perhaps a better case for poor treatment), but given Bayern's placing in the table and their involvement in the title chase, I certainly endorse your view that they should have been on TV more often than they've been.

Just checked on the ProSiebenSat1welt web site ...
No Schalke-Bayern last week
No Bayern-Rostock tomorrow
No Wolfsburg-Bayern in two weeks ...
I think you can safely say that a majority of soccer fans in Germany (and Germans in exile) are Bayern fans ... They do play a pretty good season with attractive football. There is a tight race at the top - and for my $15 a month I don't get to see any of it?
W T F ?
Bayern will play the next 8 matches against so-called no-name teams - does that mean we won't get to see any, even though it's a tight race for No.1?
That's pretty frustrating, especially after Fox screwed us Bayern fans over this season.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArhg!

Hooray for boobies, indeed. Unless the boobies happen to be running Fox Soccer Channel. I've been fairly understanding of FSC's programming choices this season: 1 game a week is not as good as 2 but better than none; it's a good thing we're not watching Bayern every week; they may not show us the best game each week, but the games are generally pretty good.
But this week, FSC has blessed us with Rostock/Mainz. This is, by my estimation, the worst of the Saturday games, and I'm not sure it's close. You knew we weren't going to see Bremen/Stuttgart, the undisputed best game. Wolfsburg/Bayern is probably #2, because of the Bayern factor and because Wolfsburg, when properly motivated, can play some reasonably good soccer against the BL elite. The third game is likely Schalke/Nuremberg, because of Schalke's position in the table and because any game featuring FCN is likely to involve a decent number of goals. And you can make arguments that the other three games are all better than Mainz/Rostock (Leverkusen needs a win and have to play Bielefeld, a good home team, in Bielefeld; FCK/Hannover features two pretty evenly matched mid-table teams; and Freiburg/Hamburg has at least the possibility of another Freiburg meltdown). But Mainz/Rostock are just two weak teams in a game that really has only a tangential relationship to the relegation race (Gladbach/Bochum on Sunday is the relegation battle with the most interest). In my view, a really atrocious choice by FSC. Is this the best they can do? Or is this part of their master plan to devalue their BL franchise to such a point that they can say next year, or the year after that, that there is no interest in the BL and they'd rather show first round FA Cup games between Sheepsex FC and Pisspoor United?

Haha, I had to read it twice before I got it. But I am still not sure if I just have low standards or if it is really clever ;).

I couldn't have phrased it better. It's really a sick joke. At least next week we'll get Bayern-Gladbach on FSC.
And I just learned that ESPN2 has expanded their Champions League matches next week: Chelski-Bayern live (I don't recall if Kohl was still chancellor when ESPN aired a Bayern match the last time ...).
In general I must say that I still would prefer the Bayern match to air on ProSiebenSat1Welt (better picture quality and live) but I won't complain ... Just hope that FSC doesn't change their minds at the last minute next week.
