This from the gossip column on BBC Sport - Football:

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley has emerged as a surprise contender to become the new Manchester City boss. (Daily Mail)

I don't see it myself. Why got to a club that is in worse financial shape than the one you have already built up? And why go into direct competition with Man U? Besides, even if Curbs were to leave, I don't see him going to a club outside the London area. He doesn't see his wife and kids very much now. That wouldn't get much better if he works out of town.

city does have a much larger stadium that can generate a lot of money.

but yeah, why leave charlton for anything but a top 4 club or england.
