Not that it really matters, but could we vote on a new forum tagline? "charlton" just isn't doing anything.
Rob can you change it?
how about:
"You Are Entering The Valley" ?

You're right -- about that it doesn't matter. The way I enter the Charlton MB, I don't even see the tagline.
Your choice of tagline is fine. How about something with the BIG Valley? The Valley is getting bigger [more seats] and the club is getting bigger.
All in all, I would much rather see our name go from just "Charlton" to "Charlton Athletic".

Must you start trouble with everyone?
Guys, if Rob's not around, I can get it changed for you, once you decide what you want it to be.

Should we start a poll to decide? Put out all the choices?
You are entering The Valley!
Welcome to Happy Valley!
The Big Valley.

I'm sure there are others to put in the hat. Let's get on with it. Someone put up the poll.

I tried, but it didn't work or I couldn't figure it out..
we could just vote in this thread, I like the "you are entering the valley",
there is a sign in the tunnel that reads that as the players walk on the pitch (at least that is what i remember the sign saying)

I made a poll for you guys. Vote and let me know when you think it's finished. Then either Rob or I will request the change.

I'm glad that I brought some sunshine and laughter to your day.
It's not like we can really talk trash to each other this year, two 1-1 draws.
Although the toon army did "boo" your team off the pitch in the last meeting.

I probably would have preferred something like "Valley Floyd Road, Valley Floyd Road".

Unfortunately, I'd already voted so I can't change it (I do like the "red, red robin" one).

what is that in reference to? is it a song the supporters sing at the valley?
it looks like all 4 or 5 of us are going to have a split vote

Which were you referring to? "Valley Floyd Road" is the one sung by the supporters at matches. It is a very distinct song based on an old irish tune. You can't miss it when the supporters are singing it. It reminds me a lot of when the folks up at Anfield sing "You Will Never Walk Alone". Something that you won't hear from any other club's supporters.
As for Red, Red Robin, that is the song they play at The Valley when the team runs out onto the pitch. That has been a staple at the club for decades.
