Best show on television. Does anyone else here watch the show? The show where they break into the three person bachelor pad was hilarious.

Yeah that show is a good show. As someone who was robbed at knifepoint in their house, it hopefully will warn people properly. It was amazing that the burgler got a good 50K on that bachelor pad.

The show is something else. What boggles my mind is just how incredibly arrogant the 'victims' are. I hate thieves, but jees... some of these victims are so ********in' stupid. "I lock my doors if I remember". "I never use the front door & forget to lock it all the time". Amazing. The bachelor pad one was great because the moron that owned the house didn't really learn a damn thing but his roommates did. :D :D

I've seen commercials for it. What is the premise and when/where is it on?

It is on Discovery Channel. Premise is two ex thieves are contacted about checking security on a house for people. The way they do it, is at some varoius time when no one is home, they break in, steal all your most valuable things, break stuff, rampage your house. All the while, the cameras record what is going on. You watch how they got in, what they took, and how it feels to walk into your house after it was rampaged. They go over security pointers with you about what you can do to prevent a robbery from happening. At some point over the next couple of weeks, they once again return out of the blue and test you to see if you are following their instructions.
The best part of the show IMHO is watching the theives determine which items they are going to take, finding "secret" items (like money hidden somewhere..jewels, etc..) and with them explaining why they took what they did. Like I said, they pulled in 50K off that bachelor pad.
From their web page....
According to the FBI, in 2003 there were more than 2.1 million reported burglaries in the United States — that's 740 burglaries per 100,000 inhabitants. The majority of those offenses — 66 percent — were residential, with the thief taking away an average $1,600 in goods and cash from a home like yours.
So how safe is your house?
Enter It Takes a Thief, a unique new Discovery Channel series that offers viewers something they've never seen before: a home burglary performed by convicted former thieves that is taped as it happens, followed by a lesson in what steps to take to prevent such a violation from occurring again.
Hosted by reformed ex-cons Matt Johnston and Jon Douglas Rainey, It Takes a Thief exposes home-security flaws by unleashing these two uniquely qualified experts onto the properties of people interested in learning just how vulnerable their houses are, if at all. Watch along with the homeowners themselves as the burglars size up, break in, and ransack the home in search of valuables. And in so doing, discover what items are attractive — and why — to a burglar.
Then, sit back as our experts give the property a full home-security makeover, reworking everything from locks to landscaping. How foolproof will these new measures be? Homeowners and viewers alike will find out when Matt and Jon pay an unannounced visit some weeks later to test them. Will they get in this time?
