Just wanted to get a count on how much people think we should change. It seems that most everyone realizes that it's time for something new. Immediately after the Milan defeat, it seemed a substantial # of people were for the end of the Scholes/Keane/Giggs/Neville era. I'm curious to know if that was a knee-jerk reaction, or if some of you out there are really committed to it.

Personally, I chose option #2. Can't help but think that almost all great teams dictate play in the middle of the pitch...and we haven't always done that so well this year.

I choose #2 but i would also like to see a new goalie.

Need a keeper for Howard to learn from and compete with, as well as adding depth on the wings and someone to give Keane a rest as well as work with Fletcher and Kleberson. Defense is solid and so is the striker corps.

I am not ready to declare the Keano/Scholes/Giggs era dead. All three have played well this year and all have gone through some rough patches. I think if we can get a quality winger and also a quality defensive mid it will extend the Big 3's collective careers.

Also like Achtung a mentor for young Howard in Goal.

I think Milan taught us that the end of the Scholes/Keane/Giggs era is upon us. We don't have to replace them all immediately but we would be foolish not to start seeking replacements this summer. I chose #2.

#2, plus a keeper.

Chose number three. I haven't seen enough of Essien yet, and so I can't really judge...but if someone can convince me that he is the ideal replacement for Keane, then I'd say lets get him this summer as well.
I think the most important addition to our squad should be a quality keeper. I also think we should sign a winger, ideally a cheap but good one.

Voted for #2.

For me our priorities are;

1. Goalkeeper (Carrol will be a free agent in the summer)
2. Gerrard / Lampard type central mid

If finances allow;

3. Central defender to partner Rio

Though sadly I suspect that David Gill may be spending too much time deflecting the Glazer bid ...

Why were on the subject of David Gill (well not really about David Gill but still), does anyone think hes great? i think hes superb so far, just look at our recent signings, Heinze for example, a few days after been linked with him, we got him and then coughing up the money for the Rooney deal after signing the players we already did.

Even if Carroll were on a life-time contract, a keeper is a must-get coz Carroll is sh!t and Howard ain't the finished product yet.

I hate Kenyon's guts now, but when he was here he seemed a great guy, not just in terms of transfer stuff but he even just seemed a nice guy. Gill hasn't started bad, but he could loose MANY fans if we don't buy this summer and fail in the league next season.

Bring in a quality GK to work with TH, a CM (preferrably DCM in nature) and another flank MF is all we need. We DON'T need to break the bank, let SAF work his magic and find another CRon. All will be fine in the Red Kingdom!

Definitely choice number two but with the addition of a GK.
I would put getting a GK as the number one priority in the summer.
In the very worst case scenario, if we cannot find a CM and a CB this summer, I think we will still have chance for one more season to compete
for the EPL and the ECL.
However, if the GK situation does not get resolved this summer, I can just see more heartbreaks in the league and the cups next season.
