My buddy works in the evenings as a phone CSR, and while he can't post on BigSoccer, he can and does e-mail me when it's slow, as it often is.

Lately, we've been using my ISP's e-mail on Microsoft Outlook instead of my Yahoo e-mail for correspondence. It's been great, except for one thing: It takes approximately half-an-hour from when he hits "send" on his end for his e-mail to arrive in my inbox. That kind of tends to slow down the chit-chat.

A few weeks ago, though, I discovered a workaround for this quite by accident: If I send the e-mail, then close Microsoft Outlook, I get instant delivery of his return e-mail when I open Outlook a minute or two later.

I can live with that, but OTOH, it'd also be really nice not to have to put up with having to reopen and reclose the program every time I send him an e-mail. So, can anyone tell me what's going wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

Tools/Options

Select the "Mail Setup" tab.

Click the "Send/Receive" button.

Change the "Schedule an automatic send/receive every" value to 1 minute.

when I want to refresh my inbox, I usually click on another Outlook function such as contacts, drafts or whatever, and then click back on my inbox - it refreshes and looks for new mail. But generally speaking Outlook isn't the greatest for quick chat because at least with my work email, if the server gets bogged down, email can take up to a couple of hours (although this problem doesn't happen too often).

Ah-ha.

My tab said only "Send," but I found what I needed to find under the "General" tab. I've ratcheted it down to one minute. Thanks!

Now I have a Microsoft Outlook question.

I manage a business which receives orders by e-mail. The previous IT guy created a rule so that when an e-mail comes in the Inbox, it automatically prints the contents of the e-mail. I want to modify the rule so that it prints two copies of the e-mail. Is this possible, and if so, is it simple?

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't find a option to print two. I know there's an option to "Print it" but it doesn't let me specifiy the number of copies.

learn how to double click on the email and ctrl+P and select number of copies: 2 or grab some smart programming guy or whatever to tweak it.
