Now (this can change radically, time flies and anyhthing can change even 2 months before the WC):
1. Lux
2. I will like to say Abbondancieri, but so far in the NT he hadn't a good level.
3. Ayala
4. Samuel
5. Zanetti
6. Sorin (I hate his atolondramiento + NO WAY as a midfielder, only in an emergency)
7. Milito
8. Heinze
9. G. Rodriguez
10. Mascherano
11. Lucho Gonzalez
12. Cambiasso
13. Aimar
14. Riquelme
15. D'Alessandro
16. Solari
17. Biglia ?
18. Tevez (hoping he recovers his level, and began to understand there are many things to learn)
19. Saviola
20. Palacio (my bet, I hope he affirms in Primera)
21. Delgado
22. Rosales
23. ..........the only tank we have is Crespo, and I hate him badly, is my capricho, I will prefer even Messi here, and go with all the little ones.
- I will take Messi at least to be in bench, to have the experience of what a WC is about.Another is Cata Diaz (won't make it, but I like him), he really can take the ball clean, with training with NT, he will be great.
- I like Veron, and if he plays in an 8 (off mid in right flank mainly) role, or as an organizative 5, but no way playmaker, nevertheless he had his chances, is time for Lucho and Roman, talking about similar characteristics.
REMEMBER IS YOUR TEAM, SO BE AS CHILDISH AS YOU WANT, BE BIASE TOWARDS THE ONCE YOU LIKE, after all is what every coach does. And respect other choisces, if you don't like them just point why, WITH FOOTBALL resons mainly, or just hate towards that player, but evryone is entitle to live Aimar out if he wants.

I think in the road names like Galletti, Maxi Rodriguez, Placente, Scaloni, Ponzio and sadly Duscher, I hope not Castroman, and Zapata will have their shot too, specially the Pekerboys here; also who knows, though I doubt it, if Belluschi with the confidence that showed against Mexico, and his obvious skills don't make a place, I hope too Gago becomes the reality he can be as far as I saw of him from lwer divisions, and Youth NT.
Is so changing everything that I don't evn take in account Cavenaghi (MY TANK if he wakes up again, a thousand times ahead of Crespo), Clemente, and Battaglia whose injures, wife no adaptation are messing his career.

Manu, you don't get the question, and I make it too much open, but is a good idea of you to make lists of players from every nation we will like to see, just to give quality and the WC be more fun, why don't you open a thread with that?

2. I will like to say Abbondancieri, but so far in the NT he hadn't a good level.
So untrue.
Against Germany...two goals.
1. Penalty...never the goalies fault.
2. The one actually created during the game.....stupid defensive lapse by Milito and someone else... Pato did leave the 1st post a bit open...but the error in the defense put him in an awkward position.
Against Chile...the only reason why Argentina actually left with a tie.
We'll see against Bolivia and Colombia.
Franco....to be honest, I haven't seen too much of him b/c I never had access to La Liga but now that I have GolTV...we'll see.
Lux is good, very good....but he has two big problems. The first is that he lacks vision/quickness in distributing the ball and creating an attack. The second is that he's playing @ River (no porque sean gallinas) but because he's behind Costanzo (shame!) If Lux could get more experience...then maybe. However, if he keeps his current progress and gets more experience...definately our GK in 2010.

BUt man, he is not ven near the level of Boca that take you there, I'm bostero like you, but he hasn't being as secure as he is/was in Boca, neither accurate in his kind of long assists, and nervous overall.
In Copa America I expect from a NT goalkeeper to catch some difficult ones, or evn the so call impossible, Pato every shot was inside.
PD: Don't think I do not rate him, but I can't be blind, and say he was great, the thing is that he wasn't in his OWN level, and as a side note, he is one of my fauvorite players leaving football aside, he seems a great guy that deserves the luck of the world.

Pato deserves a start. He's actually come up huge many times in the last year for team and country. As much as I hate Crespo, his form this season has been awesome. I'll deal with him as long as he produces. Why hasn't anyone mentioned Demechelis at Bayern? Smart strong defender that can push into midfield. Samuel should make the team as long as he gets on a team where he wont have to handle all responsibilities on the back line by himself. I'd like to see more of Castroman and Lisandro Lopez as well. Everyone was pretty spot on. Veron is done with the NT as far as I'm concerned. Until he contributes consistently in league play he has no business on the NT. We arent lacking in midfield so why even mention Veron.

Oops, I put Verón twice on my list. One of those spots was meant to be for Kily González... :o

I really Think Kily had his shot, and as much as it hurts for me Veron too, but I won't have problem him as back up, more than probably he will have.
I just hate Crespo, I don't like how we turn into a long passing, crossing machine with him, on the other hand he is a real finisher, but so is Palermo, Inzagui, Bierhoff, and many (I prefer Crespo by the way in comparisson with those is just to give an idea).
I don't like the inherent iman those players produce, another case is a Kempes or Ronaldo that can produce by themselve in regular basis, from any position on the off position of the field, and integrate better to the associative game. Sadly we don't have a Kempes, so is more than understandable to call a Crespo.
I had so much faith in Cavenaghi, he was a great combination between striker and very good team player, that I hate that move to Russia, I hope he recovers.
Figueroa is in Crespo's style, and Crespo is way more experience; one of the things I like a lot of Olympics was of playing without a tank, and had a lot to do with an overall better, more beautifull dispaly I like in the NT.
I prefer to waste 3 chances to get one, and at the end of the day producing 15, than creating 3, and hoping that day Crespo woke up in a lucky day, it happened many times, and I think is time to change, I know is hard because he there is a huge gap in experience and succesfull career behind, between him and the rest of contenders.

Figueroa is more skilled, he can play outside the area, and damn it... he has the natural gift of turning every single ball that passes near him, even the most difficult ones, into a threat for the opponents.

I don't see a huge gap between them, I will prefer Lucho, but I know Crespo has not only better marketing, also better achieves. I will love Tevez to become what till now insinuates, I will have no problem to give advantage of height, as long he is back with his second march, he plays more intelligent, and consolidate and leave this last year and a half, ups and lows. Dreaming, I will love having a Matador Kempes, all over the pitch amazing striker. Just thiking what use a duo Roman-Aimar can get of him, just makes me high.

Yeah...do you remember that ball he hit in..I think it was against Venezuela, he looked like a contortionist....i mean it was incredible...
Side note #1 Villareal....goles de Riquelme, Sorin, Figueroa and Forlan...way to represt los paises rio platenses....
side note#2..I really think that Villareal and Inter Milan having so many Argentine NT players playing together is an advantage for us in the long run..

As hot as Crespo has been all year, his style of play just doesn't mix with a team concept of futbol as many of you have said. Crespo would be great coming in late during a game as a target man. I agree that having him on the pitch to start is like starting with only ten men. We have plenty of forwards that can score goals so why waste a position on a player that or wont run at defenders with the ball. Tevez had a good game in Brazil and Saviola has been in good form at Monaco. These two can drop back into midfield a bit, something Crespo cant. I love the spoils of this great futbol country. Who do we leave off the pitch. What problems to have :)

Given his current level of play, you can't leave him off of the squad. Who starts is another proposition all together.

I think that now is the time to experiment. We have great forwards, lets see who can get the job done best. I would like to see Tevez paired with Crespo, to see how it works out.
The team is winning, but we still have to improve a lot. They should not make the mistakes they made last time. For example, Bielsa never experimented with pairing Crespo and Batistuta. Who knows, that might have saved us at the WC. Now, look how well Crespo is doing playing alongside Sheva, a player of similar characteristics to Batigol.
The point is, we can speculate about who is better, but unless they try the different combinations we cannot know how effective they can be. We have great centerforwards in Crespo, Tevez, Saviola, Figueroa, and wingers like Galetti, Chelito, Rosales. Peckerman needs to experiment, so when the World Cup comes, if they run into problems like last time, he will know all the variables available and the potential of each one against the different challenges which the opposing defenses might cause.
