Pardon the vent, but following CNN's coverage of this shooting in Atlanta has been an exercise in frustration.

I realize the story is "breaking" but they keep interrupting sources and affiliate reporters just as they are starting to tell us actual news. I really don't think the anchorwoman in this case is listening to anything anyone is saying.

A low point is when a tow truck driver who had been carjacked gave a pretty detailed description of what had happened to him and the anchor responsds with a lighthearted "So, not a typical day at the office eh?"

Just another reminder that with TV it's pictues first, brains 2nd.

See the bubbleheaded bleached blonde...
comes on at five...
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash...
With a twinkle in her eye...
Don Henley

About 6 months ago a local channel sent one of their ditzy talking head bimbos over to a couples house whos son had just been killed in Iraq. She weasels her way into their living room. The father is really sullen and mom's crying, so she proceeds to jam a microphone in their face to ask them how they're feeling. It's enough to make you want to club these people like baby seals.

Best use of Dirty Laundry lyrics ever.

The inane commentary only gets better.

After telling us that a Sheriff's Deputy has died, the reporter says that EMTs were surrounding the man administering CPR, "apparently in vain."

Umm, if he's dead, there's nothing "apparent" about that.
