BTW just how much are you being quoted for tickets by the way, either for Arsenal of for you sarabella Everton?I paid £90 for two tickets in the Clock End at Highbury in September (Arsenal v. Everton).

Against the smaller team, Chavski seem to regularly have their 60-pound tickets go on general sale.

Shame about the atmosphere in the Highbury Libary tho.;) :D

All tickets through me are face value. Generally the only tickets I get are at £44.50. I get allocated a certain amount of tickets, I can't choose which price range unfortunatly.

Dont worry Sara the most youll pay for a ticket when you come to see Everton will be 36 pound. Although add on my handling fee your looking at about 50 or so.

Does anyone have a sense of what the chances of getting tickets at the box office for the Chelsea vs Everton match on the 17th of April might be? I understand that for some of the lesser teams one can get tickets, but it's unclear to me if Everton qualify. My son and I are going to London that weekend with the express intent of hitting as many football matches as possible. I'm trying to figure out whether I should get tickets in advance for Charlton that same day or take my chances with Chelsea. Any pointers would be most helpful. Cheers,

james

Lesser team uh, i might of helped but no im just offended ;) . I would say just check on their website, they should list the dates that tickets go on sale, i doubt they would have those dates for the Everton match but when they do just try and phone then or if possible use e-ticketing.

I'm heading to London March 8th-13th... I'm figuring Arsenal v. Liverpool and Chelsea v. Tottenham tickets will both be too tough to come across (though if anyone has any info please let me know!), however, tickets for Charlton v. Middlesbrough looks promising

Some questions about buying tickets
1) are there any problems with buying tickets from America through Charlton's website? tickets are picked up at the stadium on the day of the match, correct?

2) which section is the best to sit in? the choices are West Lower, West Upper and East

if you could either respond here or email me at rotobw1@yahoo.com i'd be greatly appreciative. thanks in advance

Hi All, My family and I will be going to England for summer vacation August 11-23. I've really gotten into the Premiership in the last year, after finding fox soccer channel on my new cable. Well anyway, i've read that the season begins the 19th and seeing as how this may be one of my few chances to visit the UK i'd really like to catch a game. I'd prefer City but I'd love to go to any premiership match. I know this is opening day so to make a long story short, is ticket availability going to be scarce for just the big clubs or for everyone? And also on opening weekend are all the games usually on Saturday or will there be some matches on sunday most likely because I think my father would prefer a Sunday match based on his plans. Thanks for any responses.

It usually depends on who the opposition is, the fixtures do not come out till latter this month, on the 23rd then you will be able to see if City are at home or away. Untill you know what the game is and the venue it is hard to speculate.

http://www.premierleague.com/ will have the fixtures on the 23rd.

last year city averaged 89.2% of capacity at home games

Ok, so after looking at the schedule, I figure my best shot to view a game would be 8/22 in the London area.

Any perspective on the availability of tickets for these three games and which one would be most fun?

Tottenham/Sheff Utd
Charlton/Man U
Watford/West Ham

Also, if tickets for Premiership ties would be hard to come by, anyone know how hard it is to get tickets for Football League Championship games and is the quality of the games/atmosphere worth going to?

...Any perspective on the availability of tickets for these three games and which one would be most fun?...

not surprisingly, there is an inverse correlation between between your two concerns - 'availability of tickets' and 'the most fun'.

i've never been to vicarage road, so maybe someone else could be more helpful. still i've got to think this will be the easiest ticket of the three - even if it is the first home match(?) for a newly promoted side. i'd anticipate pretty good atmosphere for this one, if it is their first match up, but again, i've never been.

i went to man u at the valley last year, but it wasn't an easy ticket. the club didn't put them on sale to the general public, at all - members and season ticket holders only. still, i called their ticket office, and they were able to work something out for me. charlton has a reputation for being a 'friendly club'. it's well-deserved. atmosphere here will be good, and very good if charlton are competitive. man u away support is great, wherever.

spurs tickets go onsale to members 10 days prior to the general public. these days, that means the general public gets access to very little. you will be able to go to the club's website, find the onsale dates for both members and general public, and monitor the sales via the availability diagrams. often there will be a handfull of single tickets available after those 10 days, so watch it closely, and act quickly if there are any still up for grabs. first home match of the season, though, so.... atmosphere here will be the best of the three. but, then, i'm a yid.

*********
for what it's worth, you can dramatically increase your odds for either the valley or the lane by becoming a club member. charlton has an 'international membership' which is quite reasonably priced. it'll get you an exclusive scarf and some other doodads, as well as access to 'members only' match tickets. spurs membership, on the other hand, is rather pricey, your trinkets are rather crap, and birthday card they'll send you has "you're a sucker" written all over it. still, it'll make ticket access possible for virtually every match (if you act quickly), whereas they are often virtually impossible without.

obviously, whether you want to commit the additional cash will correlate to your commitment to either club. if you're not a supporter, it seems a bit much. still, given all you'll be spending on a trip to london, throwing a few extra dollars into your already overpriced ticket (actually, charlton's are pretty reasonable) might make sense. you don't want to get home and regret not seeing that rooney goal, or that keane cartwheel, or martin jol's noble cranium.

If you become a member in tottenham's supporters club can you buy multiple match tickets or just one per member? the site makes it sound like you need the membership card when you present your ticket, or would one membership be enough for the group of tickets. Also there's match tickets for an exhibition vs. real sociedad available for 8/12? Seeing as this is the last match before the regular season, do teams usually rest their stars or play them in one last tune up?

membership will allow you to purchase your own ticket only for the first nine of the ten days prior to tickets going on sale to the general public. on the 10th day, however, (one day prior to general sale) members have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets. i'm not sure how it works from there - for example, i don't know if the other ticket-holders have to be accompanying you (the m'ship cardholder) when they enter the stadium. also, i don't know if you can get your own ticket early, and then insure that any accompanying ticket(s), should they be available, will be next to your own.

later in the day, when i get home, i'll have a look through the literature that accompanied my m'ship, and i'll let you know what i can find out.

turns out that membership will only allow you to purchase one ticket (in addition to your own) prior to general sale.

Thanks for all the advice pookspur, but we ended up rolling the dice and just bought tickets via the online sale to non-members. I made sure to wake up at 4:30 ET to get a jump on all you yids across the pond. Luckily there were four available in H block and I snatched them up. Got all four for as much as one service wanted for one ticket. I am so excited.
