What do you guys reckon.

Rafa says we can :)
"We know how important this competition is for the fans and that is why I am very happy with the result tonight. We have been working very hard to achieve this result and maybe other teams will now look at Liverpool and think, 'Be careful.'

Garcia say so too :)
If Porto can win the Champions League then so can we. In football, many unpredictable things happen every season so why shouldn't we believe we can go all the way?

Stevie G says no
Let's be realistic, there are some fantastic teams left in the Champions League," he told BBC Radio Five Live.

"We are just going to try to stay in as long as possible but we realise that maybe it is not our year this year."

Dunno if that says he means we "can't win it", but let's be realistic...any team who makes the final eight has a chance.

Honestly, if we avoid AC Milan in the quarters or semis then I like our chances. I can't see Baros getting past Nesta, Stam or Maldini.
If all of our squad can stay healthy then we have a good shot. The problem is Carra and Didi are both one yellow away from missing the next game. The loss of either one of those guys (esp Carr) would be huge.

I have a feeling that the eventual winners will come from the quartet of AC Milan, Lyons, Liverpool and PSV. Why? They are the only ones who have been able to win both at home and away (despite each pundit and his dog predicting an inglorious Liverpool exit).

Let me rewrite that my friend. I like liverpool's chances if they avoid ac milan, juventus, lyon, psv and bayern munich. Don't get too excited for beating leverkussen, they were horrible and german football is dead.

sorry if this sounds stupid because i don't know a lot about Dutch football. But I reckon we've got a better chance against PSV then all of the other teams.

Um...let me correct you. How can we win the CL without facing one of those teams? You named 5 out of the remaining 7 teams. There are three more rounds left. Did you flunk your math class in college?

Just take a look at the injury list of Leverkusen and you would know that it was only a Class B team of Bayer 04.
Concerning Werder Bremen: I am pretty sure that they could win against Lyon. They had a very bad day...maybe two...but if you would have watched the game in Bremen you could agree that they played on the same level.
You said "Liverpools chance are good if they avoid (...)Bayern Munich." -mmhh I am pretty sure that Bavaria still belongs to Germany.
If we take a look at the teams qualified for CL quarter-finals we could also say spanish football is dead...personaly I doubt that.

leverkusen were hit by many injuries mainly in their backline. However Liverpool had quite a few big name players out Xabi Alonso (injured) Kewell (80% fitness) and Nando (cuptied). If there were no injuries to either sides and nando wasn't cup tied I would say we still would have won. Also german football isn't dead look what happened to Arsenal.

Of course you can win it. Its a knock out stage and you are already in the quarters.

Against psv Liverpool win be def. the favorietes. Although I think psv is a litle bit underrated. They have one of the best defenders (Alex) in the world who will join Chelsea next year. I hope Psv gets Liverpool, only cos I want to avoid the others (eccept Porto but they are out) :D

Injuries and suspensions will be as crucial as the quarter final draw. Being entirely realistic, one has to concede that there are teams of greater quality, with fewer key players in the treatment room still remaining in the competition.

If we get PSV or Lyon in the quarters, then we stand a decent enough chance of a shot at the semis. But we'll have to knock out two true giants who are ahead of us on their development curve at this level to actually win the thing.

By no means impossible, but unlikely.

That's my thought as well. Things would have to really break our way but ..... its a funny old game.

Anyone can win with three rounds left.

Most thought Porto and Monaco were the weak sides in the last 8, and they made it to the final.

Liverpool can progress a bit further if they get PSV in the next round, but wining the CL would be highly unlikely. But I say by getting this far you might be able to just hold on to Stevie G., more importantly your gonna get a nice CL bonus to your transfer kitty.. I always wanted to see Vicente play in the EPL ;)

You people are off your rockers! PSV has been outstanding this season and they aren't atop the Eredivisie table for nothing. There are no easy draws the next round.
