Then don't. PSG don't need fans who are going to jump ship at the first sign of trouble. Through thick or thin I'm proud of the colours.
But doesn't it upset you about the board doing nothing about the violence and racism in Paris of all places? Trust me, my wife, likes their crest + kits.
She really wants me to back them..lol.

Believe me their is nothing they can do about the fans. There are already court orders stopping 300 hooligans from attending the game and trying to separate the rascist fans, which is a tiny minority, from the regular fans is almost impossible in the throng of people in the Kop of Boulogne.
It's a different system in France than in England or the U.S, banning pople is very hard to do.

Sure it does, but that's life - the board is already very aware of the need to stamp out racism, and have started banning people from the parc. Are they going to shut down the BB? No, and they should not take any actions as rash as that, given that the majority of people in the KOP are probably decent people.
If one allows a few bad apples to completely ruin the experience then honestly (and with all due respect to you as a positive contributer), I don't see how anyone can like any sport except maybe for espn's cup stacking championships. Rotten people are a part of life, whether at Paris, London, or Milan (especially w/ Berlusconi and his populist/right-wing slander, talk about club direction sending the wrong message ). Certainly the more moderate fans in auteuil and even within the BB itself have got on with it.

The US and KKK...huh? I would say less than 1% of the population are militantly
racist in the USA. Plus you NEVER hear racist chants or violence at sports arenas.
And there are less than 1% racist in PSG supporters.
(I spoke about the KKK to make you react, I know very well that this movement has a limited scale)
Jean-Philippe D'Hallivillée, Director of communication :
PSG is partner of the Licra in its fight against the discriminations for two years. The fight does not date Thursday, November 23rd, it dated front and it will continue later. You should not make mixture with all supporters who have nothing to do with a minority of violent and racist people. These people have nothing to make in our stadium.

I've never heard racist chants at Parc des Princes.
We are not in Milano or Zaragoza

I hope that you are right, maybe I will give PSG another season. Like I said before,
I was more concerned about crowd violence and ultras running the show, than losing.

Hey, I'm Sébastien, though the vast majority of my friends here in the States call me Seb. I'm a bit torn in terms of club allegiance in France because almost all my cousins in France are huge fans of PSG, whereas I have always followed the national team more and often liked a club simply due to it having a player I admired. Last year, some of my dormmates thought it interesting how I supported MU while watching some Champions League matches (due to Patrice Evra), though I had no difficulty cheering Arsenal with Henry, Gallas and Clichy a week later. Anyway, I suppose I'd list PSG, Monaco, Bordeaux, Strasbourg and Auxerre as teams I like in L1, but I often think more out of the interest of French football as a whole than on the behalf of a club.
Oh well. I'm certain one day if I live in France, I won't be this way, but I hope PSG will have a good season. I think they will.
Oh and happy birthday/bonne anniversaire, Catfish!

This is a French special about PSG ultras...I wish I understood French.

Not to go off on a political rant and I may be totally wrong, but when I hear or think right wing, I think fascist/extremists. But is right wing in European political sense, just not socialists as other countries?
Thanks.

Your english is strange, but I will attempt to answer your question as someone with a History degree, not as a resident.
Traditionally Right Wing and Left Wing as well as conservative and liberal are used differently in the United States than they are in other countries.
In Europe almost the entire political spectrum is far more liberal than the united states, as well as the conservatives in Europe not being as conservative as our (US) conservatives are. The National Front, as well as other race based political movements in Europe are considered "Far Right" by the European political machine, but they are still fairly liberal and in favor of socialist economic political endeavors such as protectionist economic policies and price controls as well as tariffs. If anything, the liberal wing of the democratic party and the far right socialists in the European political spectrum have far more in common politically than the far rights of the US political spectrum. There is not a lot of free market economists in Europe, mainly because Europe at this point cannot compete with the US, and free markets would cause a flood of African goods into the EU which would hurt some of their poorer members in the East.
This is way off topic, but oh well.

not really in the mood to continue the debate about the BB and racists au parc, so here are a few words about me -
i was born in america, learned french early in life through my grandparents, and lived in seine saint denis (les pavilions s/s bois) for quite some time. that is where i learned to love psg. i could never explain to my friends - most of whom support big clubs like milan, man utd, barcelona - why i support a small club who seems to be perennially on the brink of disaster, except that my attachment to psg is far stronger than a fair weather fan who only supports chelsea since they signed million dollar talents. supporting psg is kind of like dating a tempestuous woman - sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's great, generally it's always crazy, but i wouldnt want it any other way ;)

Your way of describing your love for PSG is like a friend of mine's description of his love for Fulham in that he just knows something possibly bad is just around each corner but it doesn't stop his love for his team.:p
I, myself, am a brand new fan to PSG. I am trying my best to learn it's history, style of play, fan supporters(I saw that great video someone posted that showed the enthusiasm of the PSG supporters and that was cool!). I look forward to dealing with the ups and downs of PSG football.

I wrote this in the new kit thread but I wanted to add this in here as well to introduce myself to all of the regulars of this PSG forum.
What lead me to wanting to learn more about PSG and add myself to the supporters list of this fine club:
I am a glutton for punishment I guess. I guess that to show me that I am not the only one's on this planet with great stress at work, I support good clubs such as PSG whose ups and downs will show me that I don't have it so bad.
Noooo! ha ha. I am a big supporter of almost all the various European leagues. I started to show an interest in the French Ligue 1. I knew I despised Lyon and especially Marseille(especially as some of their ex players went on to play for other clubs I despise) .
It also was awesome to see the amazing fan atmosphere in the matches I have seen bits and pieces of in online videos.
I like that things are just handed to you as a PSG player and supporter.
I don't mind the initiation on your behalf.
I open to learning everything there is to know about PSG. I did get to see PSG on tv for the first time last season as I finally had access to Setanta which allowed me first viewing access to the French Ligue.
It is nice to meet everyone of you!

Okay, throw it at me the new guy, which current players are expected to do well this year and which will have me climbing the walls with frustration due to their inconsistent play?:)

Well, this might be fun, PSG has already played 2 friendly games, this is the best way for me to get back in the fray after a relaxing footie-free summer. Because there was one point back in march where I almost OD'ed on too much football, we played like 9 games in 3 weeks, I needed a break after that long season.
I might come back in a few days and make a longer list for each player, but in the meantime I'll give you just two names:
Kezman: you will pull your hair out every time you see him near the ball. He can't run. he can't pass. He can't shoot. he can't score. He can't even control the ball. Absolutely utterly useless. I already had a bad opinion back in his chelsea days, but I was willing to give him a shot last summer.
Rothen: He is the ultimate fan favorite.... as a fellow fan. As a player, he went over the hill and into a ravine last season. Throughout the years he's been quite useful, but last year showed he just doesn't cut it anymore. One suggestion: turn your tv off any time you see him getting ready to hit a free kick. You'll spare yourself the horror.
And a word on one of our summer signings, Coupet: it is completely humiliating, I still can't believe an idiot of his stature could be in our team, as bad a reputation some of our players might have had, Coupet is exponentially worse. The only way to have made it worse would have been to sign Barthez.
:D Don't worry, I'll be a little more objective in my real list. Although the whole thing about Kezman is true.
