There has been a lot of discussion about Ryan (Nelsen) and Earnie (Stewart), but we cannot clone them. That's the point. We're not going to find a guy with the same qualities as 'Nellie' or Earnie. We want to find someone that has similar qualities, but someone who is going to give us something special -- something special in the locker room and special on the field. As I said, the search is going to continue, and then we'll make a decision.

Hehehehe. He does read the boards...

Is it worrisome to anyone else that both Nowak and Olsen said that they know very little about HV? I realize they're not world beaters, but it seems like there should be some scouting of the opposition besides "they have Fabien Taylor, he used to play for the Metrostars."

Yeah I was kind of wondering that as well. I am sure this isn't like the NFL or MLB where you have video rooms filled with tapes but I think they should know more about this team. Hell even in college sports teams usually exchange game tapes, especially in NCAA Basketball.

Especially when the one person they mention hasn't been starting most of their matches if I recall correctly.

Either they are very confident or Nowak prepares the team the same way regardless of opponent.

Do you feel that the corps group of returning players is good enough this year to win the awards, or do you feel that this team definitely needs to bring in another player or two?

John, your editor is not catching this, but this word should be spelled core.

Grammar smack is weak. ;)

If it's 3-0 or 4-0, I'm going to be looking for another three goals

If I wasn't so cheap I would make that my signature.

Overall though, I don't really like the "Nothing" comment from Olsen about their knowledge of Harbour View. But I guess its too late now.

Yes, but it wasn't smack and it was about spelling, not grammar.

"Advancing to the second round is our goal. We'll have to see the condition of the players, the condition of the field, and then adjust to the situation. It's always going to be like that. But, I'm not going to slow down. If it's 3-0 or 4-0, I'm going to be looking for another three goals. This is how you send a message and how you win the game. It's not going to be easy, for sure."

Think Hudson would say anything like that? Think any other MLS coach would say something like that? I do love Nowak.

Well according to the regulations at CONCACAF.com it's not.

See the first post in the post match thread for a link.

And I thought this was a reference to Josh Gros' flirtation with the USMC!
