Interesting take on our beloved Gunners.

It is a level headed assessment and one I agree with in a lot of ways. Arsenal do not have great depth right now, but there are a lot of younger players that are getting experince through trial by fire as of late. This will hopefully benefit the team in the future. It is frustrating now however. I think AW will need to break from form and really scour the markets this summer to plug some holes. His tactic of not wanting to shut out a younger player who has shown promise is good in a way but may need to be re-evaluated to some degree.

Not much to dispute here, it would just be nitpicking. This summer will be particularly critical.

The real issue here and now is the here and now. When you look at the players here and now in their prime or approaching it in the the next several years - Patrick, Henry, Freddie, Ashley, Lauren, Edu and Pires (if healthy) and the younger players established now - Reyes, Kolo;and the veteran players passing or past their prime - Dennis and Sol. The window for this team is not closing now or fast even, but that time is approaching, and the younger players who look so promising like Cesc, Senderos, Hoyte, Quincy and Bentley are not ready to give this club that added quality it needs to fulfill its potential now, and for the players we have now, that is when it has to happen - now. Not this season maybe but not after next either. We need a NUMBER ONE keeper to start, followed by some sort of AERIAL striker(the ONE thing our attack lacks and has been used against us too often)We need players who can partner/cover/and ultimately replace Sol and Patrick perhaps. Given Wenger's own statements(I'll ignore the keeper choice again-too many prospects plus keepers just bore me) I can See Trezeguet, Chivu (or Kuffour) and Essien (or maybe just maybe Gerrard) arriving next year...

I doubt Liverpool would sell Gerard, they would be Charlton Athletic or Fulham then. Is next year the last year of his contract or something?

I don't think it's an issue of whether or not they WANT to sell him, I think it's an issue of whether or not HE wants to stay. And I think he's ready for greener pastures.
