Hi, I'm working on a website( Ultras World (http://www.angelfire.com/zine2/ultrasworld) ) about supporters groups from around the world. If you'd like to be included please send me information for your group. Thank you.

Group Name: River Ratz
Website: http://www./
Year: 1996?
Politics: Apolitical
Alliances: None?
Rivals: Real Salt Lake City?
Section: (what part of the stadium?)

Old Groups: Jolly Green Men

I know there was another smaller group or two but not sure if they are still around. Had the letters 'X' and 'V' in it I think...

You can now put River Ratz under Old group.

Currently there isn't an orgainzed group.

well, you can throw an "offical" rivalry of SLC. Any other rivalry might be debatable.
I say KC some say LA some Dallas, some say anyone trying to get out of 5th... :o

And I think our section is still 127/8. I don't think that has changed.
And last year someone tried to start the "Class-5" group. Someone correct me if I have the name wrong.

Random people such as the Illbeats Hooligans and their wacky bedsheet sign (with some odd stains I must say).

Others.

People with drums.

And... that's where the Rapids sell the "warning: people are going to be standing and loud there" tickets.

Smelly, rude, black & blue. My People!

Cheers,

BilFish

No one tried starting a group ... a name for the group was just tossed around and this name was my idea ... but I have no plans on starting group ... and no body has really set forth in making an official group.

Though Illbeats(?) seems to be putting some fun stuff together ... maybe that'll turn into something.

It is sad that the River Ratz and the "Jolly Green Men" are out of commision. The first Rapids game I went to was one of the last of the "River Rat" era. Thier actions had a profound impact on me and as such, I created iLL BeAts FC, which at this point, is the support group for the Rapids along with Wellman's bunch. The "bed sheet sign" last season is just a small portion of what we are preparing for this year. Anyone thats a Rapids fan is welcome to come along and join our ranks. (There will be a small quiz on soccer and beer before membership can be extended.) There are still about 15 spots left for the Double Decker Bus, with a month to go, lets get the ball rollin'.

Well pardon moi. I was mistaken.. after all the talk on here and the fancy shmacy sign at the stadium in that section (and rather large too). I figured a total of more then one person had "gathered" in a specific area and formed a "group."
It was kinda funny watching you all try to hang that banner and fight with others for space along the wall. ;)

We never fought for space, unless your talking about us and the Evil Doer's in the yellow coats. We got the back 8 rows and they got the front 3 or so, with the drums and all. We tried to bring bagpipes for Spencer's last game but they wouldnt let us bring them in. So this season will be the same, but I think we should call section 127-128, "The Riverbank" or "Illbeatonia", u know, whatever sounds cool.

I'm not talking about actually fighting, just mentioning that the banner was so big it took up some room on the wall and there were other signs that were trying to go up as well.
As fr space in the section itself, I dunno I sit across behind the bench.

The river bank wouldn't be bad. Sounds fine by me, but then I have no vote.

Vote away! Sheesh. Did Bush take your soccer vote as well?

As for a problem with having too many people bringing great, big banners and such?

Well, that's the type of problem we could do well to have more of. I've brought several banners, but they always end up as coasters during tailgating and it gets soggy and then there's no point in hauling it into the stadium.

Just as well, sounds like there's a space issue.

Cheers,

BilFish

Whoa, We are all hurtin' for the season aren't we? Sounds like we are all getting defensive real quick (ha ha).

Bush did take a way my vote, I am not in the top 1% of this country... thankyouverymuch. :D
And I was lending a vote of encouragement. I do not sit in that area so I feel I can't say what to call it.

The banner thing was just funny. Yeah we could use more banners, screamers (other then children) and flags/torches. I appreciate everything all you drunken drum toting yellers do, I was just commenting on what I saw. Not putting it down one bit.

Look I just hope there could be some organization. Some people seem to have some really good ideas on what to do, the passion is there and it seems that if everyone could get unified we could have a really great supporters section. Of course some great support from the FO would be needed, but i think you all are one step closer from what I see here.
Anyway, I'm rambling to procrastinate a college asnmnt so I will shut up now.

I believe a good place to start organizing the section of 127/128 would be by naming the section. I agree with my fellow illbeats hooligan that we should call the section "The Riverbank" As for a fan group Illbeats is always represented the more people we can have cheering yelling chanting and drinking with us in section 127 the better. Also feel free to tailgate with us we are always out in the parking lot drinking prior to game time.

Hear ye, hear ye,
Well bilfish I cant say much for your taste in alchol(or lack there of) but everyone is welcome to join us in Lot C next to the hill of broken glass. (DO NOT ROLL DOWN THE HILL IN SHORTS BTW  ) We park in the sme spot every game: http://www.denverbroncos.com/resources/custom/Stadium/parkingmap.pdf
We love the extra fan support. Slim7 usually stops by with his friends, you can ask him about us. And a couple of Random fans also stopped during the season. As long as you like the Rapids, soccer, Beer or a good time you are welcome.
P.S=>BYOB is always helpfull but not required!
