From the Boston Globe article
That is why there are 50 million boxes of Waffle Crisps out there with pictures of [Revolution striker] Taylor Twellman on them -- because someone in a position of power believes in our game."
I thought it was because he's a waffle head

I guess if a lie is repeated often enough, people will believe it.
"Toronto is soccer-specific, Toronto is soccer-specific...blah blah blah"
Toronto is NOT a soccer-specific stadium, the Argonauts will control all scheduling, there will be football lines and field turf.
Yet Garber keeps dissembling on this point. Enough already.

so Tenwya Bonseu is possibly being waived by the Mutts...who exactly is going to play defense for them this year? Leitch/Parke/and a draft pick? And I thought DC's defense problems were bad. Maybe their wont be such a goal drought in MLS as there was last year :)

They'll have Agoos between Leitch and Parke.

Amen. Reminds me of when Gillette was being built and Revs were told it was built "with soccer in mind" about 200 times. Not exactly. I also love how the "rules" are once again getting tossed out the window for cold hard foreign cash. We want you to have an SSS you own. Except, ya know, if you have someplace you can play anyway. Well alright. Yeah, just give us the 10 million. Thanks.
From the SB Sun article:
Also, the perception is that so many Utah Mormons have done overseas missions, and become soccer fans, that an MLS club there is a can't-miss proposition. Of course, the MLS can fail anywhere.
One more thing I love is how this is brought up again and again and again as the core fanbase for RSL.

The good commissioner is good at puff. What can you say? He is a master of speaking alot, but saying very little. He is also known for his ability to aggrandize much about anything. Read some of his state of the league addresses.

Ye of little faith.
As noted in the article, MLSE is one of the most profitable sports owners in North America.
I'm sure they know how to make this work in Toronto, and I'm sure they will address the problems with the stadium when all this (hopefully) becomes final.

Besides, Toronto would make the perfect expansion partner for a Rochester MLS team! Which is what really matters! :D

Seriously - does Bob Bradley have any clue as to what he is doing? The defense and wing play was the worst part of that team last year and what has he done - traded Eddie Pope, signed another central midfielder, and is now looking for another forward.
Note to all MLS squads - attack on the wings and then run by Agoos. God, if Beasley was still in MLS he could single handedly score 15 goals in four games against the Metros.

oh yes I forgot about Agoos....I guess since he has been injured a bit in his past couple seasons and reaching the retirement age that is an acceptable oversight on my part :)

In reading the Toronot MLS article, one gets the impression that the USL Lynx are a little bitter about the MLS possibly going there. Theres some venom in those words!

MLS plans for future are specific-Boston Globe (http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2005/03/08/mls_plans_for_future_are_specific/)
Don't recall any other source saying this, so in my mind this part stood out (second page):
"MLS has survived nine seasons of mostly negative revenue flow because of the persistence of investors such as Phil Anschutz, Lamar Hunt, and Robert Kraft. In recent months, MLS has added ownership groups headed by former Madison Square Garden executive Dave Checketts (Real Salt Lake), plus Stan Kroenke (Colorado Rapids) and Jorge Vergara (Chivas). Adidas signed a sponsorship deal worth $150 million, about $100 million of which is in cash."
I wonder if Garber could confirm this :D

The ratio of forwards to defenders for Metrostars was getting dangerously low. Bonseu's profile has been removed from MLSNET's roster page since at least Sunday so I figured this was coming.

Wizards' Klein heals himself-KC Star (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/soccer/mls/kansas_city_wizards/11076750.htm)
Chris Klein is the man. As a totally biased Wizards fan, I can't wait to see him back out on the field both for KC and the USMNT. If Gaven's not ready, I'd be more than happy to take CK at right mid for the nats.
