1) The Adams Mark Downtown is likely where the team will stay. If you dig running into the guys in the elevators and/or the lobby - which is a real treat - then that's cool.

Just one correction to Bill's extremely accurate post: The Adams Mark in Columbus is no more. It has come under different ownership and is called the Columbus Renaissance. I think it's now owned by Marriott or someone. Regardless, I would guess the team would still be staying there, unless they're bunking with Frankie Hejduk in the Brewery District.

I don't know how familiar you are with the city, but the mall that used to be downtown is gone.

City Center Mall? Still alive and kicking....just went there for lunch this week.

Here is a more comprehensive list of hotels in selected parts of Columbus. The prices are meant to serve as a rough guide as to how much you can expect to spend per night. There are certainly more hotels, but these are in areas that most visitors would find interesting. I've stayed in many of them and can offer a review if you like.

I encourage everyone to book early. OSU football, conventions and other events can affect availability.

I've been told the walking distance hotels are horrible. Least I was told that when visiting for the WWC.

They are, but that doesn't stop me from staying there. $ 40 for a room when I'm piss drunk is $ 40 I'm not spending on beer.

One good place to look for a hotel: about 3-4 miles north of CCS on I-71 is Dublin-Granville road. There is a Ramada Inn there that's not expensive, plus there's a hooters nearby, and a grocery store, so you can stock up on tailgating supplies very easily.

We're going with the German Village in. It's not very expensive ($56 including tax for a queen bed/$63 for two doubles), and it looks like there are plenty of bars within walking distance for our post game celebrations!

The Holiday Inn Express is about 3 years old so it's a new hotel has indoor pool but nothing fancy.

I stay here from time to time for Crew games because it's cheap. The outside doesn't look like much, but the rooms are nice. And yes there are plenty of bars in the area. You're half a block from Plank's Bier Garten (a local favorite), and only a short walk away from the Brewery District.

Is the Brewery District the place to be for the post game celebrations?

Snagged a Business King room at the downtown Red Roof Inn. Basic, but comfy. Only 82.00 a night on their website, 'bout a 10% discount from the other online booking sources like Travelocity and Expedia. I think the Standard King rooms are about 76.00.

For the last UNMNT against Mexico in Columbus, we stayed in some faceless hotel next to a McDonalds that was in walking distance of the stadium. That was great because we walked to and from the game with masses of other US fans who were in attendance. Before the game, we hung out in the parking lot with all the other US fans and gave the evil eye to the handful of Mexican fans in the McDonalds parking lot. What could be better than that situation?

That is where we stayed when we came up for a Crew/United game a few years ago. I thought there was a 50/50 chance I would be murdered in my sleep though.

IMegu2x - I can't say that the Brewery Disctrict is the place, but it's certainly a place. 10 years ago it was the hottest spot in town, but that distinction keeps moving as new areas are developed. Yet there still are plenty of opportunities for night life there. After the Jamaica match last year supporters met at Keegans, a bar owned by a loyal Yank and Crew supporter, and Jeff Cunningham hosted a Reggie party across the street at Brewer's Yard. I hope we can do Keegan's again. I think it would be great to pack the place with red wearing, song singing, beer drinking soccer supporters.

DB - the Red Roof is basic, but as they say in real estate, location, location, location.

Agreed! Tom and the folks there went out of their way to take care of us for Jamaica, and with minimal reward because of the sparse attendance. It'd be great to overload the place as you say, have a great time, and load up the coffers of the place with US Fan $$$$$!
