Not much in the way of description but "quite a bump" and "carried away" don't sound promising.

A bump on the leg doesnt sound good - anyone see the bump on Dickov's leg behind the knee last weekend - didnt look good AT ALL , something tore in there...

A measly $50? That's called getting what you paid for.

So if he's out for Mexico, we could be looking at Berhalter and Pope as our center backs, with Bocanegra on the left. I think Boca stays on the left, unless Bruce decides to play Hejduk there again.

what happened to Gooch and Marshall?

We need an attack out of that position against Mexico and neither Hejduk nor Boca provide an effective one.

Hell, I'd almost be willing to play Beaser at LB, with Donovan in the midfield with Gaven, Dempsey, and Mastroeni.

I'm figuring Arena, if Gibbs can't go, will do something like this:

Dolo-Pope-Boca-Hejduk

Go with the most experienced guys, and include Boca. I like Berhalter, but as a sub, he may get roasted in altitude, noon-time game and he's lost several steps. He's a good defender, no doubt, and knows all the tricks to keep a forward at bay, but I would insert the speedier defenders, cuz Mexico will try and run us out of the building.

I'm going to send a copy of this thread to USN&A so we can continue the US game implications over there.

I think I'll wait until the medical to get too worked up over it. Players get knocks in training all the time. If he misses one match, I won't be too concerned.

Real Salt Lake defender Eddie Pope is hampered by a pelvic injury and returned to Salt Lake to continue treatment.

Sorry :(

Frankie Hejduk continues to do rehab on his ankle and is unlikely to suit up against Colombia.

Hope these are just the run of the mill bumps and bruises.

Well this is not good. I'm sure at least two of the three that are hurt will be able to play against Mexico, but if the can't who replaces them? Gooch? Alrbright? Beerholder? Spector? Marshal?

For Mexico, Bruce will only play USMNT experienced guys. Expect to see Berhalter, Vanney, or Convey, even Albright to play one of the back four positions if Gibbs is unavailable.
No Gooch, Marshall, Spector, etc, because he has to know what they have and how they will adapt to Azteca.

If albright starts or even plays in Mexico I will throw up in my mouth. I'd so much rather have an inexperienced Gooch... Based on recent comments about convey i'd doubt it.
Its still a long way till the qualifier at this point though... lets not give up on Pope or Gibbs just yet.
