UEFA is taking measures against racism in the form of fines and so on, which is understandable... I was reading this article today that discussed the matter of the spanish coach calling Herny: "that black ********" during one of his team's training sessions
henry's reaction was to argue in favor of banning these people from football for life just like they banned the english hooligans from football games. Even though racism should not be advocated by fans or football institutions i do not believe it is such a serious matter.

much worse things happen before, during and after the game. I think racism is the least of their concerns. I certainly do not believe this is such a serious matter and things are blown way out of proportion.

your thoughts people?

Don't get out to too many games do you?
In Spain it's really extreme right now, Roberto Carlos one of the best known players in the world (After Donovan:)) is having a hell of time. Not just on the pitch but in the streets and at home.
There's no excuse for this crap anywhere, football isn't measured by your skin colour.
Anyone turning a blind eye or saying it doesn't matter makes you as guilty and as cowardly as the ones perpetuating these hate crimes.

Wow didn't know that! You have an links?

How comes Ronaldo isn't being targeted in the same fashion.

well im not sure if it was racism or not, but when Arsenal vs Wolves im not sure if it was recent, but i think it was a couple of months ago, when Henry had the ball, Seol Ki Hyeon (Korean Player) slide tackled the ball or something, and after that play was finished he flap his arms like a chicken. i seriously hate racism. im not racist to anyone or anything. i really hope they make players who show any racism at all heavy fines. its just not right. its the 21st century, they should wake up

Sure racism is bad , I'm sure all of you remember the friendly Eng. vs Spa . I belive Fifa stepping in and fining Spain was incorrect . How can you fine an institution that is Spanish futbol assoc. for the actions of a couple of fans .I think that is Preposterous. Sure the players feelings were hurt ,but o well their there to play a game and then go home why make such a ruckus over what a few fans were chanting ?!!
Look basically it was in another Language what they were chanting so who cares , did it affect the outcome of the game ? NO! I think there are too many people that are bored and will take action at anything that moves ..People of color have had to deal with it all of there lives but it's the way they react and adjust to this that really defines their character . Not jumping the gun and seeking reparations for getting thier feeling's hurt. This make the Idiot's even more willing to insult .

About Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and some many more others, I don't know.
I just don't think Spain is much worse than any other country, it needs to stop though.

flapping one's arms at another player is calling that player a coward. That's all.
