Revenge for just about everything: League title last year, the reserves side loss on Tuesday, global warming, Britney Spears, etc...

Magath has been fielding some different lineups as of late. Lets see some predictions!

liza back at LB if fit, frings in midfield in place of schweini...

micho, ballack deisler and frings in midfield...

back line and forward line remains as unchanged and dangerous as ever

dont forget the home defeat last season that (not just that it won them the title)

even though we got revenge by beating them 2-1 in bremen earlier in the season...

however, this game is going to be tough... werder bremen are dangerous and thats an understatement...

You forgot Brazzo has to be in there :)

Not a bad formation at all

This game could be great, these are the two hottest teams in Germany right now, but we are playing at our European level and Bremen just does not have that extra gear. We are the better team and we are playing for our lives right now, its the 10 days of doom, we survived (ok survived makes it sound like it was close) against frieburg but if we lose any of the next 3 games the triple crown is going to be really hard.

Kahn-Kovac, Lucio, Brazzo, Sagnol-Frings-Schwenni, Deisler- Ballack-Pizarro, Makaay

I think Magrath rests Liza, Owen, and Micho they fit better against Arsenal anyways.

I think that claudio should rest the match against bremen....he has since last week a back pain...maybe guerrero should start..he have prooved to make a good couple with roy against leverkusen

the main target its arsenal....the bundesliga could wait

Mandragola.... welcome aboard!!! Good comments, and I like the lineup. If Brazzo and Liza can't go, then Frings can fill in. If Pizarro can't go, then Guerrero is the easy choice.

Nice to have some players to select from!! :D

The lineup will probably be like this:

----------Pizarro--------Makaay-----------

------???--------Ballack------???----------

----------------Demichelis-----------------

Lizarazu------Lucio------Kovac-------Sagnol
-------------------Kahn--------------------

Ballack, Demichelis, Lizarazu and Pizarro will definetly play.
But it's open who will be in the left and right midfield. The options are Deisler, Frings, Brazzo, Schweinsteiger, Ze Roberto, Hargreaves. I think Magath might give Deisler a break, Hargreaves could come into the team to take out Micoud. Brazzo played great the last two games, but if he plays, he must play right midfielder, he's wasted on the left side.
I'm really courious how the squad will look like on saturday, because everybody's fit and in decent shape. This will be the main squad in the important phase of this season.

The striker and CB pairs were found, Ballack has a fix place, Demichelis showed that he fits better in this position than Frings. The remaining 2 spots in the midfield can be played by 6 great players. I don't think there's a team in Europe that has so much depth in the midfield like Bayern and depth is usually more important than 1 or 2 great individuals.

I think it will be a great clash between the two best teams in germany! and i hope for an equal result like that from the last season in the olympia-stadium! so i think it will be a 3:1 victory for werder!

I don't see Frings being taking out of this lineup. I think since he is soo versatile, he can be our left side midfielder. Deisler or Brazzo should get the nod for the right side. The only "monkey wrench" that can be thrown into this lineup would be Hargreaves -- as you have mentioned wisely -- who may just as well be used to neutralize Micoud as he did the last time the two teams met in the first term.

So after 19 posts in the Werder Bremen section, your 20th is loaded with briming optimism about your visit to Munich, eh? ;)

Well, we welcome the comradery here, no need to fear. It will be a good game regardless, but I must disagree with your enthusiastic view on this match. Munich is just starting to find it scoring rhythm as well as solidify its lineup. It will be a tough game for you to find space, plus you will have to contain two top flight strikers who are in fine form. Not to mention Mr. Ballack ramming in right behind them (did that just have an "ambiguously gay duo" ring to it? sorry).

Best of luck.

We have a couple really dangerous fixtures ahead, we need to beat Bremen but we dont need to beat Aresnal and Schalke. I think we can do it. Obviously a 1-0 loss at Highbury would not be bad, but we have a couple days, who is more likely to slip up Schalke or Bremen? I mean assuming we need the brething room.

jeez, if arsenal is winning 1-0 in the last 30 mins, i will be shitting my pants...

we really need to score a goal and score early and first, if possible...

then i can watch peacefully...

The good thing about the game is that Bremen is good enough so they don't have to adapt to the opponent. If Bremen plays the way they are able to and nothing bad happens (injuries!) they should win this game fairly easy
