There was alot of questions brought up regarding Colon and their firing of Pizzi and Chemo. Here are some answers from an article in ElComercio:

Frente a los medios de prensa el Chemo dijo que no tenía ningún problema con los dirigentes, pero no esperaba a salir del club de esta manera. "A mí me habilitaron para que pudiera dirigir, pero no sucedió lo mismo con Pizzi. Desde ese momento ocurrieron cosas medias raras que ahora no puedo explicar", explicó.

Además, Del Solar se refirió a la situación del 'Puma' Carranza, quien llegó a Santa Fe para efectuar una especie de "pasantía" y observar de qué manera se trabaja en Colón, tanto en primera como en inferiores. "Lo he alojado en mi casa y luego lo voy a presentar al técnico que se encarga de las divisiones menores del Colón para que empiecen las coordinaciones. José se queda, de todas maneras", dijo Del Solar.

También le preguntaron por Vargas y Cominges. "No creo que haya problemas con ellos, tienen contrato por dos años y no se irán de Colón. A mí me pasó lo mismo cuando llegué a Real de la mano de Valdano. Al poco tiempo se fue, pero yo quedé en el club", dijo el "Chemo". Además, Vargas es jugador de Colón (adquirió una parte importante del pase) y con Cominges hay un préstamo ya firmado con Sporting Cristal, más el contrato del jugador, que obviamente la dirigencia respetará.

Yeah that kinda sucks, it's really time Pizarro goes to another league. Six years in Germany is enough. Besides, he's never going to achieve real high scoring numbers as long as Makaay is there cuz he's the main striker and Pizarro the support.

We haven't had a Peruvian in the Italian league in decades. Who was the last one? I think it was Uribe or Barbadillo

I think the style of play in Italy would suit Pizarro just fine. But I don't he would accomplish anything in Spain. On the other hand Farfan would do lovely in Spain. As far as Guerrero goes, to be honest I really don't know what his style of play is.. even after all these games with Bayern and a few with games la seleccion. Hard to understand exactly how he plays. Either way he should stay in Germany for a few more years to develope his goal scoring skills.

Empató 1 a 1 con Newell's en Rosario. Cortó así una racha de tres derrotas consecutivas en este torneo y logró sumar un punto como visitante frente al último campeón. El gol sabalero lo marcó Esnaider en contra. El gol del local fue de Belluschi. Colón no jugó bien, pero mostró otra actitud.

Colón y Newell's Old Boys de Rosario empataron esta noche en un tanto, en uno de los adelantos de la cuarta fecha del torneo Clausura de primera división, que tiene como líderes a River, Lanús, Estudiantes y Central, con siete unidades cada uno.

Los goles fueron anotados por Fernando Belluschi a los 16 minutos del primer tiempo, mientras que la igualdad llegó a los 31 de la segunda parte con un cabezazo en contra del delantero Juan Esnaider.

Con este resultado, Colón logró su primer punto en el certamen, mientras que los defensores del título cosechan seis unidades.

El partido tuvo un primer tiempo entretenido, en el que prevaleció la intención de crear juego en lugar de destruir.

Si Newell's logró llegar en varias oportunidades al arco de Tombolini, Colón también tuvo sus posibilidades. Fueron menos, pero las ocasionó.

Sin dudas que el dueño de casa era el más incisivo y logró un buen resultado a los 16 minutos cuando alcanzó el primer gol del encuentro.

Gracias a una soberbia jugada del 'Burrito' Ariel Ortega, quien enganchó en el borde del área grande, envió el centro y por detrás de los defensores de Colón ingresó el movedizo Belluschi, quien de derecha la colocó junto al palo derecho de Tombolini.

Así se puso en ventaja el conjunto local y desde allí empezó a hilvanar una serie de jugadas que le permitieron inquietar al visitante. Sin embargo, un buen trabajo del arquero impidió que Newell's se fuera con una diferencia mayor al vestuario.

Fue evidente que Colón sintió el proceso semanal de haber sido víctima de una serie de amenazas sobre algunos jugadores, pero también la renuncia de la dupla técnica formada por Pizzi y Del Solar, quienes apenas duraron tres encuentros.

Sin embargo, por momentos afloró en los futbolistas el amor propio y trataron de revertir el resultado. Fue a través de Hernández y Cominges que aparecieron las oportunidades más claras, pero también chocaron contra Villar, el arquero paraguayo que defiende los intereses de Newell's.

En la segunda parte la situación no fue muy diferente. Sólo que Colón se adelantó unos metros en el campo de juego con la finalidad de buscar el empate.

Con más empuje que ideas y buen juego, la visita intentó, pero Newell's no se dejó llevar por delante. Sobre todo por el buen trabajo en el medio campo de Zapata y Rosada, quienes se encargaron de cortar el circuito de juego.

Hasta que a los 31 minutos de la segunda etapa, Colón se encontró con un gol. Giovanny Hernández tuvo en sus en sus pies un tiro de esquina y Esnaider, quien había ingresado por Scocco, cabeceó en contra de su propio arco.

Podían haber dado más, pero se conformaron con lo que dejaron en el campo de juego. Los dos deben mejorar si quieren seguir escalando posiciones.

Mientras se escriben estas líneas, el “Tata” Martino define si será el nuevo técnico de Colón, como así lo suponen la mayoría de los dirigentes. Anoche, Martino estuvo con sus amigos en la cancha. ¿Se habrá llevado un diagnóstico preciso de Colón? En parte, sí:
* 1) Al equipo le falta un delantero con oficio “de área”.
* 2) La repetida intención de Estévez de desbordar por los laterales, que a veces parece más efectista que efectiva.
* 3) El bajo momento individual de algunos jugadores, caso Moreno y Fabianesi.
* 4) La gran voluntad exenta de profundidad que tiene Cominges, un jugador que puede lograr tranquilamente un nivel de 6 puntos afuera del área, pero que lo baja a 4 cuando tiene que superar en velocidad o en potencia física a su último adversario.

i saw the match pizarro and makaay were pretty invisible. guerrero came on the pitch on the 55th minute and was close to score an awesome goal when he flicked the ball ovre 2 defenders but was denied by the keeper. bayern played extremely defensive the second half so guerrero didn't get many opportunities

makaay was injured so there is a good chance that pizza and paolo will both start against arsenal. sorry about makaay and bayern but it might be an opportunity for guerrero to showcase himself on the big scene

All I got to say is that Pizarro is on FIRE right now. You gotta admit, this has to give the boys some confidence for the game on Mar 27th :)

Makaay was injured today against Bremen.

Good chance of Pizarro and Guerrero both starting against Arsenal this week for the return leg of the Champions League.

This game is a must have! I can only get the highlights but I hope somebody in the Bayern boards posts a torrent for the full game.
