Hey, guys!

I've been using a program to watch matches online called CoolStreaming. Chandu has been promoting this in several other threads. In a nutshell, it is a stream-sharing program that passes the stream amongst all of the users taking all of the bandwidth load off of the stream server.

Anyway, one of the streams listed is for ESPN Asia. ESPN Asia is carrying the Fulham/Charlton match on tape-delay on Saturday night at 8:00PM Eastern/5:00PM Pacific. The commentary will probably be in Chinese but who cares. You can still see the match.

I've been using this program at work over the last week and have been watching Champions League, FA Cup and Premiership matches aired on ESPN Asia and StarSports (listed as test sports on CoolStreaming). The streams are pretty smooth especially if your not using your computer for anything else. And I have run across a few matches in English as well as Sports Center with almost all football.

Some tips. After installing and running the program, click on the button third from the left a couple of times until it converts the language to english. Then select a channel to watch. Give the program a few minutes to load and run properly as both the buffers in Windows Media Player and CoolStreaming needs to get filled up. It will be choppy at first but give that few minutes to sync up properly.

Where to get the program? Go to www.coolstreaming.org (http://www.coolstreaming.org) and download it.

If after finding you like the program you can get up to date television schedules from www.espnstar.com (http://www.espnstar.com). I've using the Malaysian schedule lists since it seem to match what is on. BTW, the time zone for east asia is U.S. Eastern +13 hours.

You may also want to make a search for Coolstreaming here in the forums for more details.

Let me know what you think.

Enjoy!

I am going to have to try this since I cannot listen to the match during the Saturday morning hours here in Central Standard Time America.

I will let you know if it goes well.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to try this.

Did anyone else?

I got to watch most of the first half but had to turn it off for other family duties so I didn't see the second half.

All I can say is that Bartlett cost us three points, possbily twice. You cannot believe how close to the goal he was and how much space he had to drive it home. Just awful.

I saw highlights last night on FSW. Terrible.

We need a bona fide striker. Or we need to give Jeffers a good run out to see what he can do. With his passing ability, I don't see why he couldn't play some up front alone.

For goodness sake, give him a go and see what happens. This would have been an especially good time to try since Fulham wasn't really threatening.

Bartlett has done a great job up there, but he may need a rest. He looked tired even in the Boro match.

If you missed the match it is being replayed tonight on Star Sports Asia at 9:30PM Eastern/6:30PM Pacific. Star Sports is listed as "test sports" on Coolstreaming. Picture quality on Star Sports is superior to ESPN as it is a 741 kb stream. It also may be in English, too. I am watching the Man City/Bolton match live right now on Star Sports and it is in English.

Just to also let you know that you will be able to watch CL matches on Star Sports and ESPN on Tuesday and Wednesday both live and tape-delayed. Also, all four FA Cup Quarter finals are live on ESPN Asia this weekend.

All I can say is give Coolstreaming a chance. Pick your channel and step away from your computer for about 15 minutes to give the buffering a chance to catch up and don't do any multitasking while the feed is going so as not to slow things down. As for machine specs, well, I'm watching on my computer at work which has cable for internet access, 1.5 Ghz Pentium III, 256 meg of RAM and an onboard video card and things are pretty smooth.

Just be patient with the streams and you will be using this all of the time.

Enjoy!
